Happy Holiday is a 1955 Christmas album of Christmas songs and carols by Jo Stafford, accompanied by her husband Paul Weston and his orchestra. The entire family participated in the creation of this album; young Tim Weston is the small boy on the cover. Stafford is also joined by The Starlighters for vocal background, just as she was after her version of The Chesterfield Supper Club moved to Hollywood.

For this set Art Tatum's group recordings for Norman Granz in the 1950s, the remarkable pianist is teamed with bassist Red Callender and drummer Jo Jones. Due to the presence of his sidemen, Tatum is slightly restricted as far as changing keys and tempos at will, but his playing is still often stunning. Highlights of the trio performances include "Just One of Those Things," "Blue Lou," "I'll Never Be the Same," and "More Than You Know."

Friends and collaborators including Ross Noble, Alan Davies, Meera Syal, Morwenna Banks, Jimmy Mulville and Ricky Grover celebrate the former psychiatric nurse's stellar career in comedy. It was the late 1980s when Jo turned to stand-up, braving the male-dominated alternative comedy circuit. Voted Stand Up of the Year at the 1995 British Comedy Awards, her fearless wit made her a darling of the panel and quiz show circuit. The new millennium brought new comedy gravitas as she wrote and starred in nursing series Getting On and Damned, about social workers.

Lateralize Records are immensely proud to announce the release of The Heart Wants, the much-anticipated first self-penned solo album by Jo Harrop. Written and recorded over the last year when the world came to a sudden standstill in the wake of the pandemic, The Heart Wants is an album about love and life, about losing and then finding oneself in the silence after the applause has faded away.

Alfred Desenclos and Jean Langlais were both superlative composers of choral music, yet most of their works are performed far too infrequently. This album offers superb performances of some of the best choral works by these great French masters. Initially called the ‘Madrigal Singers,’ the USC Thornton Chamber Singers were first formed in 1939 under the direction of Max T. Krone — a professor of music education, composition and choral music, as well as the dean of USC’s former Institute of the Arts. In 1942, Krone brought Dr. Charles C. Hirt, then the director of the Glendale High School choirs and a USC alumnus, to the school as both a lecturer and as Director of the Chamber Singers. Hirt later established and became chair of the Choral and Sacred Music department. In 1956, the Chamber Singers adopted its current name in a move designed to better reflect the group’s repertoire.

"Jo Sago" was the band's second (and final) album and originally appeared in November 1970 on the now legendary Harvest label. The band began life as a Progressive Folk band comprising of the core members Jeff Daw (Vocals, Guitar, Flute), James Langston (Vocals, Guitar) & Nigel Phillips (Drums, Recorder, Keyboards) and were part of Jim Simpson's Birmingham-based Big Bear Management stable of artists (who also included Bakerloo, Black Sabbath and Locomotive).
By the time of the "Jo Sago" album, Jeff Daw and James Langston were joined by Bob Wilson on Keyboards, Guitar and Bass and had moved further into the area of Progressive Rock. Produced by Tony Cox at Sound Techniques studios, "Jo Sago" was a conceptual work that touched on subjects such as race relations in 1970s Britain and more…
