Having previously tried his hand at revivalist disco, jazz-funk and Afro-funk, it was probably only a matter of time before Bruno "Patchworks" Hovart tried his hand at Jorge Ben style samba-pop. Naturaza sees him joining forces with Ipanema-born musician and vocalist Jonathan Da Silva under the Jaoa Selva pseudonym. Musically, the album sounds like it could have been recorded in Brazil in the late '60s or early '70s, such is the fuzzy authenticity of the duo's production, instrumentation and song-writing skills. It's packed with summery, feel-good gems, the majority of which boast the distinctive shuffle of vintage samba and the jaunty musicality of early Azymuth.

At the end of the 60s, with his instrumental and vocal ensembles, Michel Corboz undertook a colossal project: recording an exhaustive collection of the sacred music composed by Monteverdi after he was appointed maestro di cappella of San Marco. This collection is mostly dedicated to the Selva morale but also rare and isolated pieces. It is an essential cornerstone of early music recording history.

Pablo Heras-Casado, leading the musicians of the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble into the heart of Monteverdi’s “Moral and Spiritual Forest”, captures the magic of its madrigals, psalm settings, Marian hymns, motets and mass settings collected in the monumental 1640 publication which forms a summation of the composer’s life’s work. His intensive activity as “maestro di cappella” at St Mark’s Basilica in Venice – a veritable haven for the musical avant-garde of his day – is typified by this selection of the choicest gems chosen from the imposing anthology.

Relicário is a permanent project that presents the memory of Sesc São Paulo with media from the institution's collection. For more than 70 years, Sesc has in cultural action the aim of stimulating personal autonomy, interaction and contact with expressions and different ways of thinking, acting and feeling. The project starts with audio from historical concerts held at Sesc community centers in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, remastered as albums. The series also offers the historical context of each record, through texts, videos and photographs. The historic João Gilberto concert at Sesc São Paulo Brazil, 25 years ago, is now available in a high-quality live recording. Featuring a previously unreleased song, Rei sem coroa, in the voice of the master of Bossa Nova. This is a real treasure of Brazilian music.
