Jocelyn B. Smith Pure & Natural

Jocelyn Bernadette Smith is an American jazz vocalist. She was born in Queens, New York in 1960. Around the turn of century she worked on projects with classical orchestras, most notably with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 2001. However, jazz and popular music still hold her attention and in 2003 Jocelyn B. Smith received an IFPI Jazz award. "In The Moment" is her live interpretation of famous Jazz/Soul/Pop/Folk songs.

It is a stroke of luck for the German jazz scene that New Yorker Tim Collins came to Munich twelve years ago. The 45-year-old belongs to the small group of the world’s best vibraphone players.

Having spent the last half decade building up a name as a jazz and soul singer of rare distinction, Ada Morghe now presents her fourth album, 'Pure Good Vibes', which features the British reggae icon Maxi Priest. A trip to Jamaica in January 2024 set 'Pure Good Vibes' in motion. Ada headed to the island after hearing that her bassist and producer Livingstone Brown, was flying there to work with Maxi Priest. It was an idea that was underlined by her desire to explore the music, culture and Jamaican heritage that had also shaped the lives of her other band members Luke Smith (keyboard) and Josh McNasty (drums).

To follow up her victory at the 2014 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocals Competition, Ashleigh Smith releases her debut solo album "Sunkissed", a blend of original songs she co-wrote and carefully chosen covers. While her iridescent alto is capable of tackling material underscored by darker themes such as heartache and sobering social commentary, optimistic rays of light always shine through her voice. The musicians accompanying her and most of Smith’s writing partners were fellow classmates of hers from the University of North Texas, where she studied jazz.

In 2017, the musical term 'electronic' is nearly obsolete given the ubiquity of computerized processes in producing music. Even so, the prevailing assumption is that musicians working under this broad umbrella must be inspired by concepts equally as electrified as their equipment. Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith has demonstrated in her still-blooming discography that this notion couldn't be further from the truth, and that more often than not, rich worlds of synthesized sound are born from deep reverence of the natural world. Smith has embodied such an appreciation on The Kid in as direct and sincere a way as possible by sonically charting the phases of life itself.
