Formed in 2009 as a solo vehicle for Sydney-based singer/songwriter Dave Hosking, Boy & Bear specializes in evocative and heartfelt indie folk-rock in the vein of contemporaries like Fleet Foxes, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Mumford & Sons. Rounded out by guitarist Killian Gavin, bass player Dave Symes, and brothers Tim (drums) and Jon Hart (mandolin, keyboards), the Aussie quintet inked a record deal with Island Records on the strength of its independently released first single, "Mexican Mavis." The group's debut EP, With Emperor Antarctica, dropped in early 2010, followed in 2011 by Boy & Bear's debut long-player, Moonfire, which went platinum in their native Australia. The band's sophomore outing, 2013's Harlequin Dream, would go gold.

Très Chic! is the sequel to C'est Chic!, the top-selling celebration of French girl singers of the 1960s released on our Ace International imprint a couple of years back. The collection spans the years 1964 to 1969 and is available in 24-track CD and 12-track deluxe vinyl album formats.Serge Gainsbourg, eminence grise of Gallic girl pop, is represented on the CD version via Attends Ou Va-T'en by France Gall, Comment Te Dire Adieu by Françoise Hardy, Au Risque De Te Deplaire by Marie-Blanche Vergne, Les Papillons Noirs by Michèle Arnaud and Sous Le Soleil Exactement by iconic singing actress Anna Karina. Other highlights include Tut, Tut, Tut, Tut, a cool French cover of US girl group the Lollipops' Busy Signal by Roger Vadim discovery Gillian Hills, and Jacqueline Taïeb's 7 AM, the rare English language version of her celebrated 7 Heures Du Matin. Hand-picked titles by Annie Philippe, Elsa, Violaine, Pussy Cat, Brigitte Bardot, Delphine, Liz Brady, Valérie Lagrange and Violaine complete the set. The accompanying 20-page booklet features an illustrated track commentary by Ace's in-house yé-yé fanatics Mick Patrick and Malcolm Baumgart.

This much-awaited recording, where Canadian singers Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Karina Gauvin perform some of the most beautiful arias composed by Handel showcases outstanding and conniving talent. This project was born from a collaboration with Alan Curtis and his Complesso Barocco, one of the most famous and renowned ensembles in the baroque music field. The 15 arias, performed in solo or in duet, are jewels from 9 oratorios that use material from the Bible and provide a large overview of Handel's genius to depict each emotion, from tenderness to fury.

Karina Gauvin…is comfortably able to get the better of Vivaldi's coloratura, athletic intervals and ornaments….Gauvin offers…[an] affecting performance of two motets, one of them, 'Sum in medio tempestatum' a real rarity in performance.

Gentleman Jim Reeves was perhaps the biggest male star to emerge from the Nashville sound. His mellow baritone voice and muted velvet orchestration combined to create a sound that echoed around his world and has lasted to this day. Detractors will call the sound country-pop (or plain pop), but none can argue against the large audience that loves this music. Reeves was capable of singing hard country ("Mexican Joe" went to number one in 1953), but he made his greatest impact as a country-pop crooner. From 1955 through 1969, Reeves was consistently in the country and pop charts – an amazing fact in light of his untimely death in an airplane accident in 1964. Not only was he a presence in the American charts, but he became country music's foremost international ambassador and, if anything, was even more popular in Europe and Britain than in his native America.
