When the British Blues Boom exploded in the late 60s it brought to fame such now legendary names as Eric Clapton, Peter Green and John Mayall. But there were many other fine musicians creating great music and establishing their own careers in bands and on record. One of the most important performers was Dave Kelly, a young, multi-talented London-born slide guitarist, singer, composer and bandleader. Dave first came to fame with the John Dummer Blues Band and went on play with Paul Jones and Tom McGuinness in the highly successful Blues Band, while leading a parallel life with his own outfit the Dave Kelly Band.

RCA will be releasing the official best-of album ‘The Essential R. Kelly‘ under the Jive label on May 19. The 35-song, double-disc set will feature his biggest hits including “Down Low,” “Bump & Grind,” “Ignition (Remix),” “When A Woman Loves,” “I Believe I Can Fly” and many more. Plus, it includes hard-to-find remixes, rare movie soundtrack cuts (several of them out of print), and career-defining collaborations.

Last year, the Kelly Family released their Album "25 Years Later" with old and new Hits.Afterwards, the Band brought their Songs to the stage several times. Kathy, Patricia, Paul, Joey, John, Jimmy and Angelo played more than 40 concerts throughout Europe."25 Years Later – Live" there is now a new live album and a concert film with many Highlights.The recording was made at their gigantic Gig in early December 2019 in the sold-out Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin. Almost 20,000 Fans were there live.The career-spanning set of the Kellys lasted around three hours, with Hits and classics as well as completely new Songs. Die musikalische Großfamilie Kelly wurde in den Neunzigern als Folk-Pop-Gruppe mit alternativem Lebensstil bekannt. Der amerikanische Familienpatriarch Dan Kelly (1930-2002) zog mit seiner Familie nach Spanien, seine Kinder musizierten ab 1974 als Kelly Kids auf der Straße. Später tourte Dan zusammen mit seiner zweiten Frau Barbara und den Kindern im Bus durch Europa. Ein erster Plattenvertrag kam 1979, ein Jahr später hatte die Kelly Family mit dem Song "Who'll Come with Me (David's Song)" einen Nummer-1-Hit in Belgien und den Niederlanden. In den Neunzigern erlebte die Gruppe mit dem Song "An Angel" und dem Album Over the Hump ihren Durchbruch, in den 2000ern konzentrierten sich viele der längst erwachsenen Kinder auf ihre Solokarrieren. 2017 gab es mit dem Album We Got Love ein Comeback.

Immersion in the UK blues scene has helped Derry, N. Ireland's Niall Kelly establish a valued reputation in the industry, and one sufficient to secure a support slot with Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott on their autumn tour last year (2017).
Niall's music is a Celtic/Country/Folk/Blues fusion offering up huge cross-over appeal and enabling his being booked this year at festivals ranging from the Colne Great British R&B Festival to the Stroud Folk Festival.
