Georges Prêtre was one of the rare conductors to support the music of composer and music administrator Marcel Landowski, a composer who was long blacklisted from the French milieu due to his open opposition against the boulezian avant-garde. We bring you the only existing recording of his violin concerto and the fourth symphony, dedicated to Prêtre who premiered it. The work highlights the very personal voice of Landowski, continuator of Honegger but with its own inimitable style.
'One of the best Vladimir Cosma's soundtrack!! Realy funky! In film "Le Coup Du Parapluie" he receives one of the very first credits in the opening titles, even before the rest of the crew and most of the actors. This soundtrack didn't include some other great tracks from film; "Allo Samba" from "Le Retour Du Grand Blond" film and later released on "Le Moustachu" 7" track named "La Mission". This LP was reissued on CD in 1995 by Pomme Music, but the track named "Souper Pour Deux" was rejected, but you can still find it on "L'Etudiante" soundtrack, it's name - "Premier Baiser".
Peace Eddie
Joël Grare, percussionist and tireless seeker after offbeat sounds and instruments, here presents his third album for Alpha: ‘Footprints beneath the snow: first sounds of innocence, cowbells and jingle-bells, sounds swallowed up by the mountain’… Through his compositions and inspirational influences (Debussy, Bartók) he follows a dizzying emotional Alpine path, along with his amazing instruments: drums, balafon, melodica, sanza, cowbells of all sizes, Japanese drums, trompiki, rainstick, thunder sheet – and his famous ‘clavicloche’
Between 1970 and 1973, EMI/Path released several ambitious and progressive pop albums, including 'La Mort Dorion' (Grard Manset), 'Puzzle' (Michel Berger), 'Hathor' (Igor Wakvitch), and 'Pour Pauwels' by Guy Skornik. Skornik was a mystic explorer, psychonaut, and gifted musician, who was immersed in the metaphysical revolutions of his time. He presented television reports, laced with elements of Eastern mysticism, on LSD experiences. And then there was Skornik's album, 'Pour Pauwells', inspired by the revolutionary writings of Louis Pauwells, one-time counterculture hero and disciple of esoteric spiritualist G. I. Gurdjieff. Guy was brought to the public's attention for the first time in the beginning of 1970 with the release of a magnificent LP on the Path-label…
