The five-piece combo, led by singer/songwriter Kevin Bilchik, brings together smoky vocals, deep-pocket rhythms, funky saxophone riffs and jazz-infused guitar solos. Born in a city famous for blues music–St. Louis, Missouri–Bilchik explored a wide variety of musical terrain before settling into the musical heritage that his city is known for. The Kevin Bilchik Band came together over time, starting with a two-piece rhythm section, featuring well traveled percussionist R. Scott Bryan and stalwart bassist Eric Warren.
Kevin Tyrone Eubanks is an American jazz and fusion guitarist and composer who was the leader of The Tonight Show Band with host Jay Leno from 1995 to 2010. He also led the Primetime Band on the short-lived The Jay Leno Show. His first album as a leader, Guitarist, was released on the Elektra label when Kevin was 25. It documented a sophisticated, nuanced voice on the instrument, and was graced by the presence of some peers who are still performing with him today: tenor saxophonist Ralph Moore,(Tonight Show Band member) and his brother Robin. Kevin’s cousins, the late bassist David Eubanks and the pianist Charles Eubanks, also appeared on the recording, which was so well received that it lead to a seven record recording contract with the GRP label, owend by Dave Grusin and the late Larry Rosen.
Coyne is notable for his unorthodox and unforgettable style of blues-influenced guitar composition, the intense quality of his vocal delivery, and for his bold treatment of injustice to the mentally ill in his lyrical songcraft. Many influential music figures have called themselves fans of Coyne's work - notable among them are Sting and John Lydon. In the mid-1970s his band included guitarist Andy Summers prior to the formation of The Police.
