Kim Dami

South Korean violin virtuoso Dami Kim has, in recent years, firmly established herself as one of the eminent young, rising stars of the international concert stage.

Dami Kim began playing the violin at the age of five. In 2002 she was admitted to the Aaron Rosand's class at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philhadelphia. She subsequently studied with Miriam Fried at the New England Conservatory in Boston, where she graduated with a Master's degree in 2012. In 2012 she was not only a laureate at the International Queen Elisabeth Competition but also won first prize in the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition in Hanover.

The second album in 4 years after Dvorak's album with the Slovak Philharmonic released in October 2018, under the subtitle Timepass, I gathered the props I loved the most in my 20s in one place. [Timepass] has two meanings. First, I melted the heart I wanted to remember again through recording the many emotions I felt on stage as a single player while playing the romantic props of various composers I loved during the 10 years from the early 20s to the early 30s. I wanted to pay. Second, when many audiences want to feel peace of mind in their spare time or have no idea what to do, we hope that they will find and listen to this album made up only of popular and beautiful melodies and have a happy time. I made up these subtitles in my mind.
