Ever since his debut, Magnus has received praise for both recordings and live performances. Magnus has not only gained attention in Sweden; together with his quartet he has regularly toured Europe with great success. One of his fans, founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival, Claude Nobs, was so impressed with Magnus that he personally invited him to play at his prestigious festival. Born in Västerås 1974, Magnus started to play the saxophone at the age of 13. His first big tour was at the age of 18 with the Peter Johannesson Quintet and Herbie Hancock. After studying at the Västerås Music Gymnasium, he attended the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.Among those that Magnus Lindgren has worked with over the years are Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, Nils Landgren, Herbie Hancock, James Ingram, Koop, Bob Mintzer and Barbara Hendricks.
