As they celebrate 20 years of Kraak & Smaak, a period which has seen them deliver a whole host of critically acclaimed and hugely successful releases, their understanding of the history and evolution of disco, funk, and House music, make them the perfect curators for this album. Yes, it's been two and half years since our last and the second volume of our Kraak Downtempo concept series released back in 2016. Now we are back again with the brand new third edition, that includes eleven hot downtempo gems from our catalog. Kraak Downtempo Vol.3 as on the previous two volumes is compiled by Timewarp, yes also known as the man behind everything on the label, guarantee is the rock solid quality and style behind this wonderful deep downtempo compilation. The release covers most of our recent releases to date, and it was selected carefully to bring a common deep mood, with a variety of genres and music styles.

Dutch super trio Kraak & Smaak go poolside: Miami style here for Toolroom. Indeed this compilation showcases the many shades of house music that soundtracked some serious fun in the sun, at 2018's edition of Miami Music Week. The longtime staples of the UK imprint Jalapeno serve up all things deep, funky, nu-disco and even a bit of French Touch for good measure. Highlights include Lindstrom & Prins Thomas' disco odyssey - translated via their remix of Temples' "Born Into The Sunset", Freerange boss Jimpster's lush and hypnotic "English Rose" (original mix), last year's comeback by Parisian legend Alex Gopher & Pierrick Devin on "Jazz Rock" (receiving another well deserved rinse!) and the inimitable Detroit legend Andres with his remix of Cool Peepl's "Free" (feat Billy Love, Amp Fiddler & Sundiata O.M). Several of the trios funked-up tracks feature throughout in addition to a continuous mix of the playlist.

The third instalment of the popular label compilation comprises of the best tracks that Jalapeno Records have to offer dealing in all things chill. Downtempo, trip hop, electronica and lounge beats are order of the day here with varying tempos and genres but always a focus on the more relaxed side of the world.

The story of Smoove & Turrell began in the post millennium North East of England with a group of working class lads and a shared passion for soul. Smoove had met keyboardist Mike Porter through the local music scene in Newcastle and recruited him for his ‘Smoove Live’ project for the label Acid Jazz.
