24 hours in the life of a family's summer Holiday on an isolated island in the Baltic.
Through a Glass Darkly (Såsom i en spegel) is a three-act “chamber film" (so named for their analogy to chamber music), in which four family members act as mirrors for each other. Originally titled "The Wallpaper," this movie is the first part in a film trilogy, the start to a new direction taken by the director. It is the first of many Bergman films to be shot on the island of Fårö.
