Le grand guerrier Kriff a failli à sa mission. Envoyé pour délivrer la magicienne Dravina des geôles de l'ennemi, il n'a pu empêcher la mort de cette dernière au cours de leur évasion. Déchu de son rang, il perd famille et honneur et se retrouve sur les routes à mendier pour sa survie. Il garde néanmoins au fond de lui la volonté de redevenir un jour le héros d'antan.
