Donna Adrian Gaines (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012), known professionally as Donna Summer, was an American singer and songwriter. She gained prominence during the disco era of the 1970s and became known as the "Queen of Disco", while her music gained a global following.

Well-known as one of Madonna's longtime featured vocalist, Donna De Lory has written, produced and independently distributed her newest album, Bliss. Donna and her musical partner cellist, Cameron Stone came from wildly varying backgrounds to forge a common bond in their love of music. "Bella Donna: Deluxe Edition" features newly remastered audio and never before released live and recorded music, includes unreleased versions of “Edge Of Seventeen” and “Leather And Lace”, as well as rarities like “Blue Lamp” from the Heavy Metal Soundtrack and “Sleeping Angel” from the Fast Times At Ridgemont High Soundtrack. This deluxe edition also includes a concert from 1981 that features performances songs from Bella Donna along with several Fleetwood Mac favorites.

Donna Summer became the first Artist signed to the new Geffen Records label in 1980 and the second album released for Geffen is this 1982 classic Donna Summer, which saw production duties by Quincy Jones. This proved to be a masterstroke, as the next album that Quincy produced was Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
The album’s r&b/pop dynamic featured a ‘Who’s Who’ of the recorded music industry, from the album’s lead single ‘Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)’, to the All Star Chorus on the Jon and Vangelis written ‘State Of Independence’, the beautiful ‘The Woman In Me’, the Bruce Springsteen-penned and performed ‘Protection’ and ‘(If It) Hurts Just A Little’, which was heavily sampled in 1999 by Cassius in ‘Cassius 1999’.
