Larry Williams has been successfully trading and researching trading techniques for three decades. Despite his youthful appearance, he has survived many trading battles and, in the process, has developed some incredible firepower. There have been many commodity analysts over the years, but Larry is the only one who has made over $1 million in less than one year on three separate occasions.
One of the more underrated guitarists in rock is Steve Lukather. Best known for his work with Toto, Lukather is a highly sought-after session player, having played on countless albums by other artists, and has no problem adapting his playing to a wide variety of different styles. Lukather also finds the time to sporadically issue his own solo albums, and in 2001, he issued a live collaboration with fellow session guitarist Larry Carlton, No Substitutions: Live in Osaka. As expected, plenty of guitar showcases for each player are provided, especially on a pair of over-14-minute tracks – "The Pump" and "All Blues" – as well as an album-closing rendition of the Carlton classic "Room 335." Not exactly a groundbreaking jazz-rock guitar release, but fans of each guitarist should enjoy hearing each show their stuff on-stage.
Quite possibly the greatest Larry Young album of the post-Blue Note years – and a massive bit of funk that totally redefines his sound! Larry's working here with his hip group Fuel – an ensemble that features Laura Logan on lead vocals, giving the tunes a real focus through her lyrics – and letting them pack a bit more punch too, since her voice sounds a lot like Betty Davis at the time! Larry's keyboards are forceful, but never too over the top – and he's notched things down a bit to focus on the overall groove of the set – still keeping things adventurous on the keys, but also working in a mode that's much more heavily jazz funk! The album's one of THE essential electric jazz sets of the 70s – and features the classic break cut "Turn Out the Lights" – plus other great tracks that include "Floating", "Fuel for the Fire", "I Ching", "H+J=B (Hustle + Jam = Bread)" and "New York Electric Street Music".
This compilation and 10th release from Larry Miller features tracks recorded over the last 10 years. There are three previously unreleased songs and the remaining tracks taken from five previous CDs, have all been remixed by Larrys long term sound engineer and co producer Neil Sadler at No Machine Studios, Wokingham, Berkshire. Larry chose the songs to highlight different sides of his song writing and guitar skills and to show that hes not just an in yer face blues rocker. Following Larry Millers stroke in August 2015, there are a lot of fans waiting for a new release and to be able to help Larry by buying his CDs. Larry continues to improve and hopes to be back on stage in the autumn winter 2016.
