Andy Summers' World Gone Strange was released in 1991. This album is comprised of guitar-based instrumental music. Ten tracks are contained. Altogether, I find the songwriting to be gratifying, the musicianship to be impeccable, and the sound quality to be satisfying. As for Summers' guitar work, it is proficient and pleasing. Even though I like all the compositions, my favorites are "World Gone Strange," "Bacchante," and "Song for M." "World Gone Strange" is a smooth, classy piece with pretty guitar playing from Summers; also, nice piano work is included. "Bacchante," one of my favorite instrumentals in general, is an indispensable gem–it is serene and displays a beautiful guitar line from Summers (keyboard and piano playing are also presented). The laid-back "Song for M" exhibits tasteful guitar work from Summers; this cut also furnishes keyboarding. When it comes to the CD insert, it includes two photos of Summers–one color and one black and white.
