Live in Tokyo

“His performance brought a veritable roar of approval from the audience,” wrote the Irish Times, after Pavel Nersessian received the 1st Prize in the GPA Dublin International Piano Competition in 1991. Being one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation in Russia, he is known for his ability to play equally convincingly in the whole palette of the piano repertoire. He won prizes in the Beethoven Competition in Vienna in 1985, the Paloma O’Shea Competition in Santander, and the Tokyo Competition.

The Soundboard Series focuses on the last three decades of concerts around the world. While some of the shows were previously available as rare and limited fan club editions, others are concerts from the artist archive, mixed and mastered for the occasion. In both cases, great care is spent to achieve the best audio quality.

At the Montreal International Musical Competition 2016, the young Japanese violinist Ayana Tsuji captured all of the “best performance” awards (including the Bach Award, the Compulsory Canadian Work Award, the Sonata Award, the Caprice by Nicolo Paganini Award, and the best recital Award) in addition to her first place finish. She had previously won major prizes at international competitions in Hanover (Joseph Joachim), Seoul and Tokyo (International Music Competition).

Live performance by Ritchie Blackmore and Rainbow recorded over two German shows in June 2016. Recorded at Loreley and Bietigheim, the band play a selection of classic Rainbow & Deep Purple tracks.

Plus, special guest Vicki Peterson of the Bangles on a searing 15-minute version of "John Coltrane Stereo Blues" from the band's recent London appearance. Coupled with a DVD that includes a documentary features a documentary and previously unreleased one hour 1983 live concert.

The definitive version of the legendary 1984 Japan tour is unveiled with fully restored and remastered sound, in a previously unreleased full concert form.

Recorded shortly after Pickett left Atlantic to sign with RCA in 1973, this extraordinary set (originally a double-LP) features a selection of Pickett’s 60s classics, new RCA favorites, and covers such as “Never My Love”, “Proud Mary”, and Free’s “Fire And Water”.
