Logos was born in 1996 as an italian progressive rock band, playing mainly Le Orme and Banco. The band recorded in 1999 "LogoS", in the 2001 "Asrava", in 2014 "L'enigma della vita", a Logos' milestone.
Still helmed by the incredible Luca Zerman on lead vocals as well as keys, aided and abetted by fellow ivory man Claudio Antolini, as well as devilish bassman Fabio Gaspari, who doubles on guitar, mandolin and vocals and adding terrific drummer Alessandro Perbellini. The album has a theme focused on a Japanese legend, an artistic style known as Origami and combining that with history, namely Hiroshima, through the eyes of a little girl Sadako, victim of the radiation released by the A-bomb. The cover and artwork are once again highly evocative and drenched in artistic flair and melancholia.
L'Enigma Della Vita (The Enigma of Life) is the third album by Logos, an Italian prog band from Verona that was formed in 1996. A long time has passed from their previous work Asrava, from 2001, but during all these years the band never stopped and kept on working on the new compositions, refining them, recording them without pressure nor hurry, with care, determination and love. The result is an excellent concept album conceived as a long suite about the life, nature and time passing by, a mature work where the band showcase great musicianship and personality blending vintage sounds, poetry and new ideas. The beautiful artwork by Luca Zerman and all the images that you can find in the booklet perfectly fit the poetical strength of the lyrics and the evocative power of the music.
Unfamiliar combinations in music can lead to surprising, captivating results. At the “Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic” concert in October 2014, series curator Siggi Loch presented Swedish guitarist Ulf Wakenius in a new and unexpected role: as second guitarist alongside the undisputed master of flamenco nuevo, Gerardo Núñez. The combination of Wakenius and Núñez has succeeded in sending the Jazzpaña project off into a wholly new direction. The Tagesspiegel described the occasion as a “mighty fiesta.” Sparks definitely flew, Núñez had an appetite for more of the same, and he invited his Swedish colleague straight back to Madrid for the re-match.
Born and based in Genoa, Italy, Giorgio Cesare Neri is a talented multi-instrumentalist and composer with extensive musical experience, among other things, as a session man and author of theatre soundtracks. He was taught the guitar by well-known guitarist Bambi Fossati (of Garybaldi fame), and was for a time a member of the band Agarthi Sound Factory. “Logos”, his debut album as a solo artist, has been described by Neri himself as a personal spiritual journey, or even a prayer.
"Logos" has a most curious sound indeed, a combination of appreciations for the classic Italian prog scene mixed into a drive up spacey rock avenues. In fact the two influences are both well represented, there are long droning guitarscapes that will bring Ozric Tentacles or Djam Karet to mind mixed right in with the classic Italian symphonic sound on other songs…
Second studio album of the hungarian sci-fi metal band, Mytra.
From mid October to late November 1982, TD toured in Europe performing 31 gigs at all in Austria, Hungary, Yugoslavia, the UK, Belgium, West and East Germany. The concert at the Dominion Theatre in London was released only a few weeks after on the record Logos Live. According to Johannes Schmoelling, this is one of his favourite albums. He considers "the live concept and the smooth transition between one idea and the next to be the key of the album's success." In 1995 Virgin re-released the album on CD in the so-called "Definitive Edition" series, featuring the original front cover artwork. For this release, the two compositions Logos, Part One and Logos, Part Two have been mixed together, forming the track Logos of some 45 minutes length.
