One Woman: The Ultimate Collection is a compilation album released by American R&B singer Diana Ross on EMI in 1993. The single-disc collection was the alternative to Ross' 1993 four-CD box set, Forever Diana: Musical Memoirs, which was a 30th anniversary commemorative of her hit-making years over three decades including work with The Supremes. This collection was similar featuring both Supremes hits and solo hits.

One Woman: The Ultimate Collection condenses Diana Ross' most successful recordings into one 20-song, 71-minute disc. Ross produced the album (which is to say picked the tracks), and included six of her Supremes recordings from the 1960s (one of them, "Someday We'll Be Together," in a new disco mix). She also licensed a few songs from her stay at RCA in the 1980s, making this one of the most wide-ranging of her compilations. She also includes four tracks from the 1990s. In other words, Ross has constructed the album as she might a concert – a sprinkling of early Supremes hits, all her biggest solo hits, and what she considers the highlights of her current work.

Diana Ross over the last two years has scored four consecutive No. 1 Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart singles – Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, I’m Coming Out / Upside Down, The Boss, and now Love Hangover 2020. This run is a history-making feat, as each track had been a No. 1 hit during its original release. Following Miss Ross’s four No. 1 Club hits comes a full album of classic songs turned “inside out.” The remixes are by producer Eric Kupper and are all created from the original multi-track masters taken from the Motown vaults.

The success of “Love Hangover 2020” continues to illustrate the unprecedented star-power of Ms. Ross as a trailblazer and legend in the music industry. The balance of the nine tracks on Supertonic include remixes of two more cuts from the album The Boss, whose original LP tracks were collectively No. 1 dance hits: a dramatic, up-tempo rendering of “No One Gets The Prize” and a Latin-ized “It’s My House.” The top 20 hit “Remember Me,” gets a smart R&B feel, while “Surrender,” and the 1973 No. 1 hit “Touch Me in the Morning” are two additional thrilling Kupper remixes.

"Diana Ross" (later reissued rarely as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough") was the debut solo album for Diana Ross. It reached #19 in the USA (#1 R&B) and sold over 500,000 copies. The album was the ultimate test to see if the former Supremes frontwoman could make it as a solo act. With the help of the songwriting-producing team of Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson, Ross turned out a successful album. Ross did extensive work with other producers before settling with Ashford & Simpson, including Johnny Bristol, producer of her final single with The Supremes, "Someday We'll Be Together". Bristol here produces "These Things Will Keep Me Loving You" (which was a UK hit when originally recorded by The Velvelettes); the rest of the LP is fully written and produced by Ashford & Simpson.

"The Boss" is the 10th studio album by American singer Diana Ross, released on May 23, 1979 by Motown Records. This album was written and produced by longtime Ross collaborators Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson and marked her return to Top 40 radio based on the strength of the title track, which peaked at #19 on the pop singles chart, and #12 on the US R&B Chart. In addition, all the LP tracks went to #1 on the dance charts, and the album itself peaked at #14 on the Billboard 200. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The release of "Diamond Diana" was synchronized with the unveiling of Ross' like-named fragrance, as well as the 2017 American Music Awards, during which the pop-soul legend was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Motown-centric Ross compilations ranging from OK to indispensable have been produced regularly since the early '70s, and this one falls closer to the lower end, as a brief overview angling for a casual listener's impulse purchase, not as a definitive anthology. "You Can't Hurry Love" is the lone Supremes selection. Otherwise, the emphasis is on solo work, including the #1 R&B hits "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Love Hangover," "Upside Down," and the Lionel Richie duet "Endless Love." There's an obligatory dance remix in the form of Eric Kupper's update of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

Love Songs is a 1987 compilation album between Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. All of the songs were previously released, as Michael Jackson had long moved to Epic Records and Diana Ross was signed to RCA so this was a way to cash in on Motown's own catalog and the success of what MJ and Diana were doing elsewhere.

Up until this release, consumers had a difficult task of finding a definitive compilation highlighting the post-Supremes career of Diana Ross mainly because there wasn't one. This double-disc set gathers 27 of the diva's finest solo sides, plus an additional 11 tracks that are making their domestic debut. As a retrospective, The Motown Anthology succeeds in gathering all of Ross' major singles. Some are available here in a previously unissued form. Such is the case for "Remember Me," "My Mistake (Was to Love You)," and "Lovin' Livin' & Givin'" from the Thank God It's Friday soundtrack. Those looking for chart-toppers should note that The Motown Anthology not only delivers rare material, but also all the hits that would render most other collections superfluous.
