Bay City Rollers were a pop phenomenon in the mid-'70s, taking their money-in-the-bank mix of good looks, pop hooks, and just a dash of rock & roll danger from their native Scotland to the rest of Great Britain and then North America. The Rollers' biggest hits ("Bye, Bye, Baby," "Give a Little Love," "Saturday Night") were pure bubblegum in the tradition of the Partridge Family and Ohio Express…
The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop/rock band of the '70s with a strong following among teenage girls. The origins of the group go back to the formation of the duo the Longmuir Brothers in the late '60s, consisting of drummer Derek Longmuir (b. March 19, 1952, Edinburgh, Scotland) and his bass-playing brother Alan (b. June 20, 1953, Edinburgh; d. July 2, 2018, Larbert, Scotland).

MURDER BAY was one of the top unsigned rock bands of the late 80's and early 90's, packing clubs all the way from their hometown in the East Bay (San Francisco) to Los Angeles. With heavy grooves, killer hooks, ass-kicking vocals and screaming guitar work culminating into a high-energy live show, the band wasted no time in developing a large fan base.
This is a very pleasant collection of pretty, melodic songs. Usually based in piano or strummed guitar, the songs provide strong foundations for the steady singing of Sharon Acle. There is an undeniable similarity to the music of 1970s prog heroes Renaissance - though the instrumentalists are not as accomplished or as steeped in the traditions of classical music as John Tout or Terry Dunford. Listening to In Search for Joy is like taking a leisurely stroll through the park on lovely summer day.
Featuring everything from solo acoustic guitar and solo piano, to their typically lush layered sound, Cirrus Bay creates a beautiful, progressive melding of styles, with focus on melody, harmony and unique chord patterns. Cirrus Bay strives to make music as unique and beautiful as possible, with a love for melody and at times, complexity. This album is a bit more acoustic at times than their others, but also the 2nd half especially is written with subtleties that will hopefully appreciate with additional listenings.
