"Afrodeezia" is bassist Marcus Miller's debut for Blue Note Records. Produced by the artist, the 11-track set features his core band – saxophonist Alex Han, trumpeter Lee Hogans, pianist Brett Williams, guitarist Adam Agati, and drummer Louis Cato – with an international list of guests. The music was inspired by Miller's work as a UNESCO artist for peace, and as a spokesperson for the Slave Route project.

A two-time GRAMMY Award winner, bassist, producer, composer, and all-around musician Marcus Miller has been a student and a leader, a creator and an interpreter, a master and a mentor in the art form of music - from his teen years to the present - with many more miles to go before he sleeps…a profound past paving the way to an as yet unfathomable future. Marcus continues this legacy with A Night in Monte-Carlo, a live audio document of an amazing concert he was commissioned to perform on November 29, 2008 in the "rich man's playground" of Monaco - a performance of music of his choice, much of it from his pen, featuring his arrangements for symphony orchestra. It features Marcus leading both his quartet and the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, with special guests: trumpeter Roy Hargrove as well as singer, songwriter and guitarist Raul Midón.

Bass great Marcus Miller brings the influence of modern urban music to his trademark sound on his highly-anticipated, genre-defying new album Laid Black, which will be released June 1 on Blue Note Records. "Time and the River" is alto saxophonist David Sanborn's tenth studio album. The record was produced by Marcus Miller, who has worked with Sanborn on numerous albums, and includes works that the two wrote together.

The world of music was forever changed in 2013 with the passing of legendary keyboardist, composer and producer George Duke. This year, Al Jarreau, famed vocalist and long-time friend of Duke, re-interprets some of Duke's renowned catalog of post-bop, jazz-fusion, R&B and Brazilian jazz with My Old Friend: Celebrating George Duke. In 1985, Miles Davis shocked the music world by moving from Columbia to Warner Bros.. He immediately started working on an album called "Perfect Way" after a tune by Scritti Politti, later renamed "Tutu" by producer Tommy LiPuma. When "Tutu" (a tribute to Desmond Tutu) was released in 1986, it re-ignited Miles Davis’ career, crossing over into the rock and pop markets and winning him two Grammy Awards. A definitive collection of the later part of Miles Davis’ work, fully remastered, from the Warner Bros studio albums "Tutu", "Amandla" and "Doo-Bop", the "Dingo" and "Siesta" soundtracks, live recordings with Quincy Jones, and the likes of Kenny Garrett, Foley and Adam Holzman.

One of Miles Davis' late career-defining masterworks and the winner of two Grammy Awards, "Tutu" found Davis again revolutionizing jazz by bringing it further into the realm of rock, funk, and R&B. The album features compositions by multiple Grammy winning bassist/songwriter Marcus Miller.

Lee Ritenour is one of music’s greatest players; his historic career spans five decades and boasts over forty albums. For his latest release, Rhythm Sessions, the legendary guitarist enlists a star-studded cast of veterans and promising newcomers including Chick Corea, Dave Grusin, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and winners from his Annual Six String Theory International Competition. This diverse project features a variety of sounds and grooves, all rooted in jazz, but with hints of funk, R&B, Latin and world music. Focusing on the rhythm sections, Ritenour penned various tracks and selected works by greats including Herbie Hancock and Nick Drake. This multi-layered and multi-textural work is engaging from the first note.

"Amandla" was Miles' perfect departure from "Tutu", and a comeback for himself and his right-hand man, the composer Marcus Miller. The album features investigations into the possibilities of contemporary synthesizers and drum machines. But unlike Tutu, Miles and Miller supply a satisfactory amount of real orchestral instrumentation, real drums, percussion and guitars.

Amandla is an album by jazz musician Miles Davis, released in 1989. It is the third collaboration between Miles Davis and producer/bassist Marcus Miller, after Tutu (1986) and Music from Siesta (1987), and their final album together. The album mixes elements of the genres go-go, zouk, funk and jazz, combining electronic instruments with live musicians. The composition "Mr. Pastorius", featuring drummer Al Foster, is a tribute to late jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius. "Catémbe" is a Mozambican and Angolan cocktail of red wine and cola.
