Maria Glibetic

Maria Callas was an American-born Greek soprano who was one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century. Many critics praised her bel canto technique, wide-ranging voice and dramatic interpretations. Her repertoire ranged from classical opera seria to the bel canto operas of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini and, further, to the works of Verdi and Puccini; and, in her early career, to the music dramas of Wagner. Her musical and dramatic talents led to her being hailed as La Divina ("the Divine one").

Two people thats all it takes to carry on an interesting and inspiring conversation. Two instruments constitute also the smallest possible ensemble the dialogue between them is inherently intimate and unique. This perception becomes even clearer, when a piece is being played by two string instruments, which although differing in timbre are inextricably intertwined. We had thought about recording a duet record for a long time, as we have been playing together for several years now, in various chamber formations from a duet to a string sextet.
