Marie Nicole Lemieux performs beloved arias by Gluck, Haydn and Mozart. Lemieux brings her velvety tone and considerable talents to bear in performances of arias ranging from well-known pieces such as Voi, che sapete to lesser known gems. She is accompanied by the acclaimed Canadian ensemble Les Violons du Roy.

"Jean-Marie Machado has brought together an orchestra composed solely of percussion on stage. All that strikes, rubs, collides, pinches, scratches itself, is scraped on the stage. We are in the paradise of percussion. There are: marimbas, xylophones, glockenspiel, vibraphone, cymbals (each percussionist has one or more), bells (bamboo or shellfish, or other) Tibetan bowls, and multiple drums. These percussions bring together skin, wood, metal, which gives a mix of sounds, timbres and textures.

"Lady T" is the 2nd studio album by American singer Teena Marie, released by Motown's Gordy label on February 14, 1980. Released in 1980. The album was produced by Richard Rudolph, and the track "Too Many Colors" features the then 7 year-old Maya Rudolph, daughter of Rudolph and his late wife Minnie Riperton. The album was dedicated to Minnie Riperton. Lady T was the nickname of Teena Marie at Motown Records. The packaging of Teena Marie's debut album "Wild and Peaceful" had not included a picture of the singer, and the image on the sleeve of this album surprised many people who had assumed she was African-American.

Even more “impressive” than her powerful playing are “the quiet passages when Marie-Pierre Langlamet elicits a song from her 47 strings that is so atmospheric, and has such subtle dynamic shadings that you would never expect from this plucked string instrument”, according to Der Tagesspiegel. Since 1993, the musician has played as principal harp in the ranks of the Berliner Philharmoniker, frequently taking her place in front of the orchestra as a soloist.

Love is the common thread running through this first recorded recital by soprano Vannina Santoni; it's also an opportunity to look back over her fifteen-year career, through her leading roles, alongside her favourite musicians. With the help of the Orchestre National de Lille and Quebecois conductor Jean-Marie Zeitouni, she places her sensual voice at the service of famous operatic arias featuring the amorous heroines of Gounod, Massenet, Puccini (‘O mio babbino caro’), Catalini (‘Ne andrò’ from La Wally) and Verdi (Desdemona’s poignant ‘Ave Maria’ from Otello). The programme also includes a rare but sublime aria from Franco Alfano’s Tolstoy-inspired opera Risurrezione (1904), as well as the magnificent ‘Saint-Sulpice’ duet from Massenet’s Manon, with tenor Julien Dran. Finally, Vannina Santoni pays homage to her Corsican roots with a new orchestration of the lullaby ‘O Ciucciarella’ that Corsican mothers have sung to their children for generations.

In her debut album, she embraces both the classics of Broadway repertoire and treasured songs of French origin, in order to represent her own musical upbringing and passion. The program explores the idea of this celebrated magical place “where it’s possible for dreams to come true”, tracing it from Anastasia’s “Journey to the Past”, through a bilingual version of the title song of Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, through Willy Wonka’s “Pure Imagination”, to George Gershwin’s “I Got Rhythm”.“This album is a real dream come true for me. From my childhood days I’ve been absolutely passionate about musical theatre, which I discovered while taking my first steps on the stage. It’s a genre whose “magical power” to tell a story through theatre, song and dance I find utterly compelling. In this debut album I wanted to bring a French touch, an entirely personal sound, to the Broadway repertoire by including some French songs that were just as much a part of my first musical experiences. The combination of these two musical worlds is hugely meaningful for me, representing as it does my background and the songs I used to sing all the time while growing up.
