Mass Extinction

It's death on an unimaginable scale, when a majority of Earth's species quickly die out. It's called "mass extinction," and it's happened at least five times before. Cataclysms, such as supervolcanoes or asteroids, are thought to cause these events, but some experts believe a man-made mass extinction could be next. Is our planet in trouble? And if so, is there anything we can do to stop the next catastrophic annihilation? Experts are traveling the world, performing groundbreaking scientific detective work to answer these very questions.

The French Canadian band Hanker was formed back in 1985, though it wasn't until 1994 that their first album was released. The band is clearly rooted in power metal, but not the current melodic Euro variety – Hanker sounds much more like a NWOBHM band, particularly on their first two releases, with a raw, rough style and a youthful energy that is quite effective. Great traditional Heavy/Power Metal from Canada in the style of classic Jag Panzer.

Picture a world of dog-sized scorpions and millipedes as long as a car; tropical rainforests with trees towering over 150 feet into the sky and a giant polar continent five times larger than Antarctica. That world was not imaginary; it was the earth more than 300 million years ago in the Carboniferous period of the Paleozoic era.
