Hailing from Curitiba, Brazil, LANDFALL features former Auras singer Gui Oliver - a true dead ringer for the legendary Steve Perry of Journey. The band’s sound can be described as falling between classic melodic rock à la Journey with some slightly heavier influences, such as classic era Dokken, White Lion, and Extreme. “I’m really glad to be back with Frontiers with a new band and new songs in a new perspective. I believe this is my best album so far. I was really impressed when I met the band for the first time. They are truly amazing, gifted and very prepared to do this with me,” says Gui Oliver.

Pianist and composer Sebastian Sternal (*1983) is a musical jack-of-all-trades with many creative faces. Sternal not only plays piano in this project, but also wrote all nine compositions and conducted the band during the recording. As his trademark, the music here also combines influences from classical music and jazz and impresses with dazzling tonal colours, catchy melodies and energetic grooves. The outstanding soloists of the hr-Bigband shine with contrasting improvisation and interactions.

To enter the immersive realm of Still Point: Turning World is to join guitarist/composer Joel Harrison and colleagues in embracing the gloriously enlightening globalization of music, unhindered by category or preconception. This original eight-movement work brings together contemporary percussion quartet Talujon (Matt Ward, Michael Lipsey, Tom Kolor, David Cossin), Indian sarode player Anupam Shobhakar, and jazz musicians Hans Glawischnig (bass), Ben Wendel (saxophone/bassoon) and Dan Weiss (drums/tabla) to realize the guitarist’s striking, kaleidoscopic vision. Guests include V. Selvaganesh (perc.), Nittin Mitta (tabla), and Stephan Crump (bass).

Tyrone Davis was a leading American blues and soul singer with a distinctive style, recording a long list of hit records over a period of more than twenty years. He had three no. 1 hits on the Billboard R&B chart: "Can I Change My Mind," "Turn Back The Hands Of Time" and "Turning Point." Davis released about 25 singles during his seven years with Dakar, most of them big R&B sellers produced by Willie Henderson. He finally returned to the top spot with "Turning Point" in 1975. Soon afterwards, Davis switched to the major Columbia record label and recorded seven albums over the next five years with producer Leo Graham and arranger James Mack who had collaborated with him for "Turning Point". Major hits with Columbia included "Give It Up," "This I Swear" and "In The Mood." Dubbed the "King of Romantic Chicago Soul" by MTV, Davis' perceived vulnerability and class endeared him to female soul fans through the 70's.
