Dynamics of Controlled Mechanical Systems with Delayed Feedback

Dynamics of Controlled Mechanical Systems with Delayed Feedback by Haiyan Hu , Zaihua Wang
English | PDF | 2002 | 303 Pages | ISBN : 3540437339 | 21.6 MB

Recent years have witnessed a rapid development of active control of various mechanical systems. With increasingly strict requirements for control speed and system performance, the unavoidable time delays in both controllers and actuators have become a serious problem. For instance, all digital controllers, analogue anti aliasing and reconstruction filters exhibit a certain time delay during operation, and the hydraulic actuators and human being interaction usually show even more significant time delays. These time delays, albeit very short in most cases, often deteriorate the control performance or even cause the instability of the system, be cause the actuators may feed energy at the moment when the system does not need it. Thus, the effect of time delays on the system performance has drawn much at tention in the design of robots, active vehicle suspensions, active tendons for tall buildings, as well as the controlled vibro-impact systems. On the other hand, the properly designed delay control may improve the performance of dynamic sys tems. For instance, the delayed state feedback has found its applications to the design of dynamic absorbers, the linearization of nonlinear systems, the control of chaotic oscillators, etc. Most controlled mechanical systems with time delays can be modeled as the dynamic systems described by a set of ordinary differential equations with time delays.
Mechanical Systems, Classical Models Volume II: Mechanics of Discrete and Continuous Systems (Repost)

Mechanical Systems, Classical Models Volume II: Mechanics of Discrete and Continuous Systems by Petre P. Teodorescu (Prof. Dr.)
English | PDF | 2009 | 570 Pages | ISBN : 1402089872 | 11.8 MB

This second volume of Mechanical Systems, Classical Models, deals with the dynamics of systems consisting of discrete particles as well as continuous systems. While differences between these models are highlighted, the generality of the proofs and corresponding computations yields results that are expressed in a common form for both discrete and continuous systems.

Modal Analysis of Nonlinear Mechanical Systems by Gaetan Kerschen
English | PDF | 2014 | 346 Pages | ISBN : 3709117909 | 6.8 MB

The book first introduces the concept of nonlinear normal modes (NNMs) and their two main definitions. The fundamental differences between classical linear normal modes (LNMs) and NNMs are explained and illustrated using simple examples. Different methods for computing NNMs from a mathematical model are presented. Both advanced analytical and numerical methods are described. Particular attention is devoted to the invariant manifold and normal form theories. The book also discusses nonlinear system identification.

Geometric Control of Mechanical Systems: Modeling, Analysis, and Design for Simple Mechanical Control Systems (Repost)

Geometric Control of Mechanical Systems: Modeling, Analysis, and Design for Simple Mechanical Control Systems by Francesco Bullo
English | PDF | 2005 | 741 Pages | ISBN : 1441919686 | 171.56 MB

The primary emphasis of this book is the modeling, analysis, and control of mechanical systems. The methods and results presented can be applied to a large class of mechanical control systems, including applications in robotics, autonomous vehicle control, and multi-body systems. The book is unique in that it presents a unified, rather than an inclusive, treatment of control theory for mechanical systems. A distinctive feature of the presentation is its reliance on techniques from differential and Riemannian geometry.
