New remastered cd release for this classic german ambient rock album booklet with restored artwork, photos & liner notes Reviews in "UNCUT”, "MOJO”, "RECORD COLLECTOR” & "CLASSIC ROCK” MAGAZINES Coverage on relevant websites & fanzines ESOTERIC RECORDINGS continue the launch of their REACTIVE imprint in April 2010 with the first ever UK CD release of the stunning instrumental album "Ammerland” by FUHRS and FROHLING. Keyboard player GERD FUHRS and guitarist HEINZ FROHLING were two thirds of the trio SCHICKE, FUHRS & FROHLING (SFF), whose first two albums are also released by REACTIVE this month. With the demise of SFF, Gerd Fuhrs expanded the musical focus of the duo to great effect utilising Synthesisers, Mellotron and Grand Piano to great effect, complimenting Heinz Frohling's versatile guitar playing perfectly. Dominated by the gorgeous "Every Land Tells a Story”, "Ammerland” is the equal of the finest ambient progressive music and its release as a re-mastered CD is long overdue. The REACTIVE reissue includes liner notes by Heinz Frohling.

With critics and listeners seemingly already in their corner, San Diego classic space/prog five-piece Astra make a Moog-heavy sophomore outing in the form of "The Black Chord". Astra won many ears to their side with 2009’s Rise Above debut, "The Weirding", on which they offset retro King Crimson-style melodies with a sense of modern urgency that indeed also shows up throughout the six tracks of the second album. It’s Astra’s balance of old and new that makes their recorded output so fascinating, and as the US has become even more enamored of all things taggable as progressive and/or psychedelic in the last three years - at least in an underground sense – The Black Chord arrives at just the right time and in just the right place for the band to be able to make the most of their songwriting…

Keyboardist and flautist Paul Fishman's 1976 work `In Search of Ancient Gods', under the project name Absolute Elsewhere, is something of a minor classic of both spacey and symphonic instrumental progressive rock of the vintage era…

STORM AT SUNRISE was an unusual progressive/hard rock band from Texas. It was founded by multi-instrumentalist Dave GRYDER, a musician who previously played drums and sang in metal bands Morning Thunder [with future Underground Railroad guitarist Bill Pohl], Heaven's Force, and Rotting Corpse. After leaving Corpse, GRYDER started his solo career as a symphonic prog keyboardist under the moniker "Covenant" and released one album in 1992, 'Nature's Divine Reflection'. Around the turn of 2000, he created band STORM AT SUNRISE together with guitarist Ernie MYERS [previously in symphonic prog band HANDS] & bassist John CHESTERFIELD. GRYDER took on keys, drums & vocal duties and consequently STORM at SUNRISE never played concerts, becoming primarily a studio act.

Cyclone is the eleventh album by Tangerine Dream and the first in their canon to feature proper vocals and lyrics. The cover is a painting by band leader Edgar Froese. Cyclone reached number 37 on the UK charts. 'Cyclone' is a very different album within the Tangerine Dream discography. Lead vocals on a TD album ?? Very unusual. And a solid drummer playing the kit in 'rock' mode !! The fact is, vocals are supplied by an amazing gent by the name of Steve Jolliffe, who also contributes some excellent flutes, lyricons and cor anglais (as well as more keyboards) to the incredible keyboard/synth creations presented here.

Newly remastered of the 1987 album. The seeds of this new reimagining of the albums were first sown in 2008 when David asked Mario McNulty to remix the track ‘Time Will Crawl’ and record new drums by longtime Bowie drummer, Sterling Campbell along with strings. The track was issued on the iSelect compilation to much acclaim, and in the notes, for that record, David remarked ‘Oh, to redo the rest of that album’.
