Chronique d'un été (Chronicle of a Summer) is a documentary film made during the summer of 1960 by sociologist Edgar Morin and anthropologist and filmmaker Jean Rouch, with the esthetic collaboration of director cameraman Michel Brault. The film begins with a discussion between Rouch and Morin on whether or not it is possible to act sincerely in front of a camera. A cast of real life individuals are then introduced and are led by the filmmakers to discuss topics on the themes of French society and happiness in the working class. At the end of the movie, the filmmakers show their subjects the compiled footage and have the subjects discuss the level of reality that they thought the movie obtained.

Des Racines & des Ailes installe son plateau au Domaine du Rayol, "le Jardin des Méditerranées", situé au pied du massif des Maures, entre le Lavandou et Saint-Tropez. Ce jardin extraordinaire, unique en France, a été conçu par le célèbre paysagiste Gilles Clément : il est un véritable "jardin planétaire" riche de 1200 espèces de plantes et de fleurs. Le Domaine du Rayol est aujourd’hui la propriété du Conservatoire du littoral : un établissement qui se bat depuis sa création en 1975 pour sauvegarder la faune et la flore et lutter contre l’ urbanisation abusive.

François, Jean ou Jacques ont eu 20 ans en 1943, comme des centaines de milliers de jeunes français, ils ont été réquisitionnés pour le Service du Travail Obligatoire, le STO. Du jour au lendemain ils ont été arrachés à leurs familles, à leurs métiers ou à leurs études pour travailler en Allemagne au service du régime Nazi. Pourquoi l’histoire du STO reste-t-elle singulièrement oubliée ? Est-ce parce que le gouvernement français est le seul en Europe à avoir organisé le départ forcé de ses citoyens vers l’Allemagne ? Une chose est sûre, au lendemain de la guerre, la France accueille les STO avec méfiance, voire avec défiance… Cette expérience a marqué une génération tout entière, une majorité silencieuse à laquelle ce film souhaite donner la parole. Au travers des souvenirs d’une douzaine de témoins et à l’aide de nombreuses archives, ce film a pour vocation de rendre justice à ces hommes qui n’ont eu qu’un tort, celui d’avoir renvoyé la France à sa défaite, à son humiliation, à ses compromissions…

Eddie Vuibert coule des jours heureux avec Sandra et leurs deux petites filles. La bande de copains qu'il forme avec Dov, Yvan, Patrick et Serge est toujours aussi soudée. Mais les affaires dans le Sentier ne sont plus ce qu'elles étaient. Eddie, Dov et Yvan doivent impérativement trouver de nouveaux débouchés, en l'occurrence eurodiscount, une chaîne européenne d'hypermarchés. Ils vont être confrontés aux procédés pour le moins expéditifs de leur nouveau client. Mis en faillite, Eddie découvre qu'il a été victime d'une scandaleuse escroquerie, patiemment conçue par Eurodiscount. Dès lors, il décide de se venger et conçoit un plan qui va mobiliser tous ses amis entre Saint-Tropez et la Tunisie contre le démoniaque patron d'Eurodiscount, Vierhouten...

With the clothing industry becoming increasingly competitive, Eddie needs a new outlet to save his business. When Vierhouten, the head of the dominant supermarket chain Eurodiscount, offers him a contract, he accepts willingly, despite the concern of his business partners Yvan and Dov. Sure enough, Eddie soon finds himself the victim of a well-planned scam which allows Eurodiscount to steal his designs and drive him into bankruptcy. Meanwhile, Serge has been dating an attractive young heiress, using his rich cousin Patrick’s expensive car and credit account to convince her that he is more upwardly mobile than he actually is. When Serge’s lies eventually catch up with him he has no other option but to raise a huge sum of money. Having learnt that his friend Eddie has dreamt up an ingenious scheme to get even with the scheming Vierhouten, he offers his services..

Grégoire Lecomte, the unlucky actor anxious to find a "real job", goes to take a screen test for a role of a killer, but gets to mafiosi by mistake. He takes their don for a producer, and they mistake him for a hitman with whom they had an appointment. Deluded Lecomte signs contract with them. He is supposed to kill gun dealer Otto Krampe at his birthday party in Saint-Tropez by piercing him with a cap of the umbrella with a built-in syringe with potassium cyanide. Lecomte is not aware that it has to be a real murder.
