When we decided to produce Micah Thomas, the project involved a recording of five titles only. In the first part or an approximately one hour session, Micah beautifully played first takes of up to ten titles, with fantastic artistic fervor and great freshness.

When it comes to Reggae music it can be a personal and subjective thing. Some people prefer the roots and foundation sounds, some prefer minimal stripped back riddims or some like the new wave of cleanly produced beats. Me personally. I’m a fan of big bass lines that hit you in your chest and horn lines that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand to attention. Roots I Vision has just that!

Micah P. Hinson and the Nothing’, his first release on French label, Talitres, comprises a collection of songs written before a bad car accident, whilst touring Spain during the summer of 2011. Flown back to Texas, doctors were consulted and the future use of Micah’s arms hung in the balance. With this in mind, he began listening to demos he’d made before the Spanish trip. The songs took on a new light and he began sending them off to people around the world including The Twilight Sad and his Texan side-kick, T. Nicholas Phelps. With their help Micah began to create a record without the use of his arms.

Micah Thomas, a discovery of the new jazz generation. In June 2020, Micah Thomas released his debut album "Tide", which was enthusiastically received by the New York Times, the JazzTimes and the Financial Times, among others. He later gained notoriety as a sideman for Immanuel Wilkins, Billy Drummond, Zoh Amba, Giveton Gelin and Walter Smith III. Now appreciated by the entire international jazz scene and newly signed to Artwork Records by Jean-Philippe Allard, Micah presents his album "Reveal", an innovative and powerfully organic conception of the canonical formula "piano/double bass/drums". Micah Thomas is already one of the leading representatives of the new generation of jazz musicians.
