For over 15 years The Old Grey Whistle Test graced British television screens and would go on to become one of the most incredibly influential music programmes. From its premiere in 1971, through to its finale in 1988, the BBC show hosted countless performances from a number of seminal artists. A remarkable appearance would often help propel an artist from being a mere unknown to a household name.

"Man on the Rocks" is the twenty-fifth studio album by British musician Mike Oldfield, released on 3 March 2014 on the Virgin EMI label. The Super Deluxe Box Set contains 3 CDs plus a 16 page booklet, art cards, a certificate of authenticity and includes the standard version of the album plus a CD of instrumental versions and finally a CD of remixed and demo versions unavailable on any other release.

If you've never really experienced Mike Bloomfield just letting loose and playing ripping and inspired guitar, this is a darn good starting point. Recorded live in 1976 and 1977 by producer Norman Dayron at the Old Waldorf nightclub on Bloomfield's home turf in San Francisco with a hand-picked band, the results are startling to say the least. Bloomfield plays with assurance and authority throughout, exploring new ideas with each new chorus from his guitar, arguably at his best since his early Butterfield/Dylan days. Mike & The Mechanics have announced that they’ll release a new album this spring. It’s titled Out Of The Blue and it’ll launch on April 5 on CD, Deluxe CD, LP and on digital and streaming platforms. The album will feature re-workings of some of the band’s best-loved tracks, including The Living Years and Over My Shoulder, along with three brand new songs: One Way, What Would You Do and the new single Out Of The Blue.
