Through satire of certain events in history (witch trials, the black plague) they find Camelot, but after literally a quick song and dance they decide that they do not want to go there. While walking away, God (who seems to be grumpy) come to them from a cloud and tells them to find the Holy Grail. They agree and begin their search. While they search for the Grail, scenes of the knight's tales appear and why they have the name they have. Throughout their search they meet interesting people and knights along the way. Monty Python delivers a scathing, anarchic satire of both religion and Hollywood's depiction of all things biblical with their second film. The setting is Judea 33 A.D, a time of poverty and chaos, with no shortage of messiahs, followers willing to believe in them, and exasperated Romans trying to impose some order. At the centre of it all is Brian Cohen (Graham Chapman), a reluctant would-be messiah who rises to prominence as a result of a series of absurd and truly hilarious circumstances providing ample opportunity for the entire ensemble (John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Chapman) to shine in multiple roles as they mock everyone and everything from ex-lepers, Pontius Pilate, and the art of haggling to crazy prophets, Roman centurions, and crucifixion.

From ‘something completely different’ to icons of comedy and national treasures, this is a collection of rarely-seen Monty Python moments from the BBC archives, following the group’s encounters with ‘Auntie’ over the past 50 years. Highlights include Terry Gilliam showing how he created his unique Python animations, Graham Chapman discussing the pressures of life as a homosexual, alcoholic comic, John Cleese explaining why he had to quit the final TV series, and Michael Palin promoting The Life of Brian on a children’s programme.

All 13 episodes from the first two series of the early 1980s sketch show that was a launch pad for, among others, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Robbie Coltrane. Originally intended as an anarchic rival to BBC shows such as 'Monty Python' and 'Not the Nine o'Clock News', the show plundered talent from the Edinburgh Fringe, with Ben Elton hired as script writer. Also includes all three episodes from the show's short-lived precursor 'There's Nothing to Worry About!'.
