A young man finds himself torn between love for his girlfriend and his family's hardship. Twenty-year-old Toni Požgaj is under great pressure from both local criminal Hrvoje, who takes him onto criminal paths, and his father, who, as a consequence of serious war traumas, is terrorising the whole family. Tony wants to join his neighbour, Zrinka, and her mother, Ruza, who are planning to go to work in Italy.
