The Wörld Is Yours is the twentieth studio album by the band Motörhead, released on 14 December 2010. Written and performed by Lemmy Kilmister, Philip Campbell and Mikkey Dee in both Los Angeles, California and Wales, with production once again by Cameron Webb, The Wörld Is Yours serves to remind everyone that you should never stop questioning or critiquing a society that would surely chew you up and spit you if given half a chance. And with 10 soul-scorching testaments to the unbridled power this world-famous trio continually maintain, The Wörld Is Yours delivers some of the finest, most important Motörmusic yet.
Not even a year after the first installment in their new series of live recordings, metal veterans Motörhead released a follow-up, 2012's The Wörld Is Ours, Vol. 2: Anyplace Crazy as Anywhere Else. Recorded at Germany's Wacken Open Air Festival on August 8, 2011, the set list of this release (which is available on CD, DVD, or Blu-ray) is almost identical to that of Vol. 1; there are also some live tracks from the Sonisphere Festival (July 10, 2011) and Brazil's Rock in Rio (September 25, 2011).
After over 35 years of relentless touring and recording, heavy metal pioneers Motörhead show no signs of slowing down. To chronicle their time on tour, the perennial road dogs released The World Is Ours, Vol. 1: Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else, a live album that tracks the power trio on their 2011 world tour. Featuring performances from Santiago, Chile, New York City, and Manchester, England, this live set not only treats fans to blistering live performances, but also features behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, giving fans of the band not only the opportunity to be in the front row for some of these shows, but the chance to take a look backstage.
Motörhead were an English rock band formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister (1945–2015), professionally known by his stage name Lemmy, who had remained the sole constant member. The band are often considered a precursor to, or one of the earliest members of, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which re-energised heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Despite this, Lemmy had always dubbed their music as simply "rock and roll"…
Intertwined amond punk, hard rock, heavy metal or, as Lemmy himself has claimed, in the most classic rock n'roll, Motorhead has created a unique and recognizable sound right from the start. Motorhead is a true original band. Like The Ramones or AC / DC, they have created a sub-genre by themselves. The Many Faces Of Motorhead is a new volume in the successful and fascinating series The Many Faces, which digs into the inner world of Motorhead, highlighting their roots, their side projects, his rarest recordings and his legacy. The Many Faces of Motorhead is an entertaining 3XCD album, a wild ride through the existence of one of the most significant bands of the world of rock & roll.
Motörhead are a legendary British rock band, highly influential in the development of many different rock and metal subgenres (including Thrash Metal, where many bands cover their songs) who love Rock N' Roll but for some reason blurred the lines of Punk and Heavy Metal when actually playing it. This box set compiles the bands second through to sixth studio albums, as well as their first live album. The albums in question are 1979's Overkill & Bomber, as well as 1980′s Ace Of Spades, 1981's No Sleep 'Till Hammersmith, 1982's Iron Fist and finally 1983's Another Perfect Day. All these albums feature the classic line-up of Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister, Phil 'Philthy Animal' Taylor and 'Fast' Eddie Clarke, with the exception of Another Perfect Day on which Clarke is replaced on guitar by Thin Lizzy’s Brian Robertson.
A fabulous collection of rock numbers from Eddie Cochran to Wheatus by way of Status Quo and Black Sabbath that will appeal not only to the air guitarists among us, but to everyone who finds great rock music exhilarating and enjoyable. Whether you're giving the grand solo performance in the privacy of you own home or hammering down the motorway with the wind in your (remaining) hair this double album hits the spot. The exhausted will feel reinvigorated and the depressed can hardly fail to feel somewhat more cheerful after sampling a few of these tracks. A second volume is promised and I will be one of the first in line when it is released. A treat - don't miss it!
Motörhead loved playing live and never, ever judged their audiences. Everyone was encouraged; all were welcome. And that included people who like jazz! So when the Montreux Festival called requesting them, it made perfect sense in its own unique way. 'Tis worth noting, too, that the Festival has always been about stepping beyond the boundaries of that 'J' word, and embracing unique artists of all genres, styles and sensibilities, the only true consistent requirement being that they represent the best and most adventurous of their ilks. This now-legendary performance from 2007 is now released to the world in all its greasy-biker glory and includes the first official release of their cover of Thin Lizzy's "Rosalie."
