Malakoff Kowalski was born to Persian parents in Boston, grew up in Hamburg, and lives in Berlin today. His first solo album Neue Deutsche Reiselieder was released in 2009. The German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung described his 2012 album, Kill Your Babies—Filmscore for an Unknown Picture, as “an album full of melancholic song sketches. As if he had cut out the pieces of a scratched copy of a Nouvelle Vague film.” In 2015, the album I Love You was released, a mix of jazz, folk and film music.

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 – June 15, 1996) was an American jazz singer, sometimes referred to as the First Lady of Song, Queen of Jazz, and Lady Ella. She was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable diction, phrasing, timing, intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.

Trudy Kerr is renowned as one of the UK's finest jazz vocalists. Mojo Magazine says of her singing "Trudy Kerr is the genuine article - She is a Joy!" All About Jazz has described her as "100% real jazz musician with fluid phrasing and a mellifluous, warm and sensuous tone." Born in Australia, Trudy moved to the UK in the early 1990's to pursue a career in Jazz. She got her big break when Ronnie Scott asked her to perform at his Club and Trudy's career grew from there. She has performed at many major venues and festivals in the UK as well as engagements in Europe, her homeland Australia and the Far East.

Had it not been for the 20th Century Fox film 'With A Song In My Heart', most people outside North America would have never heard of Jane Froman. In the hugely successful 1952 biopic starring Susan Hayward, it was Froman's voice that was heard on the soundtrack, and it made her an international star overnight. Until then her career had been confined to American radio and night clubs, with only occasional appearances on the Broadway stage and just two Hollywood movies, neither of particular merit. In 1943, her life almost ended in tragedy, whilst on tour entertaining American troops in Europe, the plane crashed and she was seriously injured, her fight back to health and resumption of her career was the focal point of the earlier mentioned film under represented on CD, Jasmine have addressed this with a fine Jane Froman collection. This CD reveals the talent behind a very brave lady.
