Mylène Farmer born Mylène Jeanne Gautier (born 12 September 1961) is a Canadian-born French singer, songwriter, occasional actress and author. She has sold more than 25 million records and is among the most successful recording artists of all time in France. She holds the record for the most number one hits in the French charts, with ten as of 2010.
Cendres de Lune is the debut album by the French singer/songwriter Mylene Farmer, released on April 1, 1986. The album was precedeed by the hit single "Libertine", and the album was rereleased in 1987 preceded by the song "Tristana". This album, which was Farmer's sole one written and composed by Laurent Boutonnat, achieved a moderate success in France in comparison with the next albums of the singer, but helped launch the career of this one.
Ainsi Soit Je… (a play on ainsi soit-il, which can mean either "so be it" or "amen") is the second album by Mylène Farmer, released in April 1988. It contains the hit singles "Sans contrefaçon", "Pourvu qu'elles soient douces" and "Sans logique". Generally well-received by critics, it was very successful and remains to date the second best-selling album of the singer. In France, the album debuted at number 8 in April 1988. Thanks to the successful single "Pourvu qu'elles soient douces" (number-one hit in December 1988), the album reached number one for two weeks in December 1988. The album managed to stay for eleven months in the top ten and about one year on the chart. The album was certified Diamond on 14 November 1989.

Cet album marque le retour de Mylène Farmer à la chanson suite à son dernier album Interstellaires sorti en 2015 chez Universal et Interscope et son rôle dans le film Ghostland de Pascal Laugier (qui lui avait réalisé le clip de City of Love).
