As one half of the Judds, Wynonna Judd became one of the most popular and respected female country stars of her time. On her own since the early '90s, Judd demonstrated an eclecticism that increasingly confounded hardcore country fans and radio programmers but also helped her retain a core of admiring followers. Her solo records might stick with Judds-style country-pop or delve into roots rock, blues, gospel, adult contemporary pop, folk, or Southern R&B. Judd was born Christina Ciminella in Ashland, Kentucky, on May 30, 1964. Her mother, Naomi (then known by her birth name, Diana), was still in high school at the time, and her biological father abandoned the family almost immediately; Naomi married another man, Michael Ciminella, to create a traditional family unit. In 1968, they moved to Los Angeles, but the marriage disintegrated in 1972. Wynonna spent parts of the next few years living on welfare and returned to Kentucky with her mother in 1976.

Suite Dreams is the new recording project by Naomi Berrill produced in collaboration with Casa Musicale Sonzogno and published by Warner. Naomi Berrill has demonstrated unique versatility that allows her to combine different musical eras under a single distinctive sign in her first two albums. With her interpretative abilities she manages to lead her cello into unexplored genres and worlds and under the same research, to bring together from Barbara Stozzi´s Pre-Baroque elements up to Nick Drake´s singer-songwriter finesse. This is Naomi´s third album and the trait-d´union of this journey is Dance: from the dances of Baroque culture - Sarabande, Gavotte, Polka, Menuet, Sicilian, Chaconne - up to typical dances of international folklore. The path of inspiration for the production of this album passes through the places dear to the cellist: Florence, where Naomi has been living for several years and where, thanks to the collaboration with choreographer Virgilio Sieni, she finds new atmospheres animating laboratories in the Isolotto neighborhood. Then Galway, her hometown, in an adjustment path to “Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture”, among the immigrant communities which come from war zones, that are stimulated to share their cultural background through workshops.

Contrary to what the title of Her Story: Scenes from a Lifetime suggests, this double-disc set is not an anthology, yet it is an overview of Wynonna Judd's career, finding her live in concert sifting through her back pages. To be exact, it captures her live at the Grand Ole Opry House on February 1, 2005, singing hits that she had as a member of the Judds and hits she had as a solo artist, covering a few songs along the way. All the songs follow roughly in chronological order, so the 27-track album functions as something like a musical autobiography.

Southern gospel and soul, rockers, and ballads all grace Wynonna Judd's fifth release as a solo artist and her first as co-producer. One of the most recognizable voices in country music, the depth and range of her voice can be heard from the first track, the rhythmic "Going Nowhere," to the last, the soulful "I Can't Wait to Meet You." Fans will be delighted to hear Judd put her rock-influenced country-pop spin on Joni Mitchell's "Help Me." And of course, what's a good Wynonna album without her signature growl?
