Native Songs

When Mickey Hart's name is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is the drummer's years with the Grateful Dead. But in fact, Hart has done a lot of worthwhile things outside of the Dead, including some world music projects. Produced by Hart in 1990, Honor the Earth Powwow: Songs of the Great Lakes Indians is one of his crowning achievements. This CD, which Hart produced, documents a Native American powwow in a rural area of northern Wisconsin. For the uninitiated, a powwow is a traditional musical/spiritual ceremony by Native Americans; the powwow heard on this disc celebrates nature, God, and Native American culture.

The ten CDs are, so to speak, the antidote to our eroticly charged box '' Sex, Drugs And Alcohol '': Absolutely youthful, this new edition is full of romance, longing, love cries and the accompanying drama. The Rockn Roll era, which was otherwise so wild, has given us a lot of memorable love songs, which the young Elvis was so lucky enough to make on his first LP. He is in this box as well as many of his Rock'n'Roll-colleagues, but there are hardly any well-known singers, who have not dealt with heartache and love-passion during their career:

"Silent Piano - Songs for Sleeping 2" is the second collection of pieces composed by Blank and Jones and performed by pianist Marcus Loeber. The album consists of thirteen very quiet and calming piano solos played with delicate perfection by Loeber. For this album, Blank & Jones worked with soundtrack expert Marcus Loeber and created very intimate arrangements of their own classic compositions from the last decade. "Silent Piano - Songs for Sleeping 2" provides more than an hour of a calming, soothing solo piano music and as well as a respite from our crazy, noisy world.
