Nemo Fire From Within

Scripture, and especially the Book of Psalms, has always formed the substance of the daily prayer of Christian monks and nuns. Monastic men and women spend more time among the scriptures each day than in most other activities. How do such regular interactions with the texts of Old and New Testaments help us renew our Christian imaginations; how might these reflective encounters enable all of us to discover the wind of the Spirit, the fountain of living water and the fire from which God speaks, within the printed pages of our Bibles?

2019 release, the second album from Austin-based rockers Fire From the Gods. American Sun was recorded, engineered, and mixed by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Motionless In White, Panic! At The Disco) over a two-month period in Los Angeles, and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Alice Cooper, Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers). It's an expertly executed and DNA distinct amalgam of metal, hip-hop, and modern rock that crackles with intensity. Fire From The Gods have adopted the tagline "In Us We Trust" - meaning "We The People" are responsible for change; a unifying statement in order to try to prevent society from succumbing to the growing malaise brought on by soul-sucking technology, divisive politics, and environmental destruction.

Fire From The Gods are back with “Narrative Retold”, the deluxe follow up to the band’s previous release, “Narrative” that was released in August of last year. Since its initial soft release, Fire From The Gods have experienced an exciting growth. Their song “Excuse Me” was the #1 most played song on SiriusXM Octane for 3 weeks in a row, which lead to offers for the band to play at Rock On The Range, Carolina Rebellion, and Welcome To Rockville, as well as a spot on the entire 2017 Vans Warped Tour. The band’s music videos also started to catch fire online. The music video for “Excuse Me” currently has over 2.5 Million YouTube views, while the video for "End Transmission" has over 1.5 million YouTube views.

Fire From The Gods may be new to the party, but it won’t be long until they're the life of it. The band has been turning heads and demanding the attention of fans as well as critics with their unique blend of melodic hooks, hardcore breakdowns, electronic beats, and catchy, screaming sing-alongs. Fire From The Gods aren't the first band to mix these genres together, but they're one of the first to truly perfect it. The band recorded their self-titled debut album with David Bendeth (Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Killswitch Engage, Of Mice & Men) and the result is something truly special.

Thomas Adès is among the brightest young stars in contemporary composition, and a musician of broad achievement and influence. His complex and appealing music exhibits a flair for drama, humor, and personal expression and is notable for the creative use of instrumental color. Adès was Music Director of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group 1998–2000, Artistic Director of Aldeburgh Festival 1999–2008, and in September 2016 becomes Boston Symphony Orchestra’s first Artistic Partner. His many awards include the 2015 Sonning Prize and the 2000 Grawemeyer Award. He coaches piano and chamber music annually at the International Musicians Seminar.
