After Alec Frank-Gemmill's critically acclaimed recordings of nineteenth-century works for horn and piano, chamber music by Brahms and pre-Mozart horn concertos, a version of Mozart's famous horn concertos from him has been eagerly awaited. As on his disc of concertante works, he is accompanied here by the Swedish Chamber Orchestra conducted by an expert in 18th-century style, Nicholas McGegan.

Nick Cave has written the libretto for L.I.T.A.N.I.E.S, a new opera by Belgian composer Nicholas Lens. They developed the opera at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic when both artists had unexpected free time due to lockdown measures.

In her debut album, she embraces both the classics of Broadway repertoire and treasured songs of French origin, in order to represent her own musical upbringing and passion. The program explores the idea of this celebrated magical place “where it’s possible for dreams to come true”, tracing it from Anastasia’s “Journey to the Past”, through a bilingual version of the title song of Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, through Willy Wonka’s “Pure Imagination”, to George Gershwin’s “I Got Rhythm”.“This album is a real dream come true for me. From my childhood days I’ve been absolutely passionate about musical theatre, which I discovered while taking my first steps on the stage. It’s a genre whose “magical power” to tell a story through theatre, song and dance I find utterly compelling. In this debut album I wanted to bring a French touch, an entirely personal sound, to the Broadway repertoire by including some French songs that were just as much a part of my first musical experiences. The combination of these two musical worlds is hugely meaningful for me, representing as it does my background and the songs I used to sing all the time while growing up.

Nicholas Britell (born October 17, 1980) is an American composer, pianist, and film producer based in New York City. He has scored both of Barry Jenkins' studio films, Moonlight (2016) and If Beale Street Could Talk (2018), both of which have been nominated for Best Original Score at the Academy Awards. He has also worked with Adam McKay, scoring his two most recent films, The Big Short (2015) and Vice (2018). The HBO original series Succession (2018–present) marked Britell's entry into television, scoring every episode of the first season, earning him the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score - TV Show/Limited Series and recently the Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.

The legendary British oboist Leon Goossens inspired all the composers represented on this recording, and all but one of the pieces were written for his oboe, on which he premièred the works by Delius, Bax, Bliss, and Finzi.

With these songs from seventeenth-century Europe (Monteverdi and Purcell) and modern Latin America (Rodriguez, Jara, and others), two golden ages of song are juxtaposed on De Pasión Mortal .
