For anyone to be able to hold his or her own next to the leopard print leotard clad exploding fireworks factory of a front woman that is Karen О takes a certain level of supreme coolness. Obviously that was achieved by a pale, 115 lb (with a good 20% of that being hair, really excellent hair) soft-spoken young man whose musical prowess had quite a bit to do with it. Thus was Nick Zinner. champion of turn of the century guitar gods, and the unchallenged not so secret ingredient in one of NYC's last great rock bands, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.In the middle of the last decade, after ten+ years of magnificence, the Yeah 3s started slowing down, which gave the hard working Zinner time to experiment. And so he did, playing in two other bands, and collaborating/performing with the likes of Santigold, TV On The Radio, Arcade Fire, Damon Albarn, Scarlett Johansson and, well, there was that orchestral performance at Rockefeller Center. He also produced and worked on soundtracks, even such mainstream fodder (and a personal fave of ours) as Mad Max: Fury Road.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis will release a new live album, Australian Carnage - Live at the Sydney Opera House, this Friday, August 25. The album collects recordings from their performances at the venue from December 16 to 18 last year during the Australian Carnage Tour. An abridged version will come out on vinyl on December 1. Nicholas Lloyd Webber (born 22 July 1979) is a Grammy nominated English composer and record producer. He is the son of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and his first wife, Sarah Hugill.
Lloyd Webber is known for scoring the BBC 1 drama Love, Lies and Records (Rollem Productions), a theatrical and symphonic version of The Little Prince based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (co-writing with James D. Reid)He scored the film The Last Bus.

Bach, in his time, could never have envisioned his music being recorded. When we first embarked on our journey with the Oxford Bach Soloists, our focus was not on recording. We were immersed in the live experience, discovering Bach’s vocal works chronologically, in real-time. It was about living the music as all those who performed and heard it did, tracing his steps through each note and phrase. Featuring two of our core Soloists, Nick Pritchard (tenor) and Yu-Wei Hu (flute), this album presents three of Bach’s Cantatas. These include possibly his earliest vocal work, Christ lag in Todesbanden (BWV 4), his only extant tenor cantata, Ich armer Mensch (BWV 55), and the much-beloved cantata, Ich habe genug, showcased here in its arrangement for high voice and flute (BWV 82.2). This recording is a celebration of our journey with Bach, and an invitation to experience his timeless music through our own journey of dedication and discovery.

Dominic Antonio Nicholas Lucanese (August 22, 1897 – July 28, 1982), better known by his stage name Nick Lucas, was an American jazz singer and guitarist. He was the first jazz guitarist to record as a soloist.
