Extreme Nonlinear Optics: An Introduction (Repost)

Extreme Nonlinear Optics: An Introduction by Martin Wegener
English | PDF | 2005 | 225 Pages | ISBN : 354022291X | 11 MB

Following the birth of the laser in 1960, the field of "nonlinear optics" rapidly emerged.
Today, laser intensities and pulse durations are readily available, for which the concepts and approximations of traditional nonlinear optics no longer apply. In this regime of "extreme nonlinear optics," a large variety of novel and unusual effects arise, for example frequency doubling in inversion symmetric materials or high-harmonic generation in gases, which can lead to attosecond electromagnetic pulses or pulse trains. Other examples of "extreme nonlinear optics" cover diverse areas such as solid-state physics, atomic physics, relativistic free electrons in a vacuum and even the vacuum itself.

Nonlinear Elastic Waves in Materials by Jeremiah J. Rushchitsky
English | PDF | 2014 | 445 Pages | ISBN : 3319004638 | 10.5 MB

The main goal of the book is a coherent treatment of the theory of propagation in materials of nonlinearly elastic waves of displacements, which corresponds to one modern line of development of the nonlinear theory of elastic waves.

Nonlinear Regression

Nonlinear Regression by G. A. F. Seber, C. J. Wild
English | PDF | 1989 | 782 Pages | ISBN : 0471617601 | 64.3 MB

"Nonlinear Regression also includes a reference list of over 700 entries. The compilation of this material and cross-referencing of it is one of the most valuable aspects of the book. Nonlinear Regression can provide the researcher unfamiliar with a particular specialty area of nonlinear regression an introduction to that area of nonlinear regression and access to the appropriate references . . . Nonlinear Regression provides by far the broadest discussion of nonlinear regression models currently available and will be a valuable addition to the library of anyone interested in understanding and using such models including the statistical researcher."

Nonlinear Ultrasonic and Vibro-Acoustical Techniques for Nondestructive Evaluation (Repost)

Nonlinear Ultrasonic and Vibro-Acoustical Techniques for Nondestructive Evaluation by Tribikram Kundu
English | PDF,EPUB | 2018 (2019 Edition) | 761 Pages | ISBN : 3319944746 | 187.08 MB

This multi-contributed volume provides a practical, applications-focused introduction to nonlinear acoustical techniques for nondestructive evaluation. Compared to linear techniques, nonlinear acoustical/ultrasonic techniques are much more sensitive to micro-cracks and other types of small distributed damages. Most materials and structures exhibit nonlinear behavior due to the formation of dislocation and micro-cracks from fatigue or other types of repetitive loadings well before detectable macro-cracks are formed.
