This CD contains a program devoted entirely to the figure of John Brudieu (Limoges, 1520? - La Seu d´Urgell 1591), one of the masters of Renaissance Europe and one of the most famous composers of the Catalonian countries. He was master of La Seu d´Urgell, where a Mass was conserved defunctorum cum Quator vocibus. That is a Requiem Mass for 4 voices, accompanied by two more songs. The three works can be framed in the ordinary of the mass for the dead: an input, a communion and one output. Thus establishing a synergy between the works and liturgical texts (in latin) to be modified by madrigals (in catalan). Orange Mountain Music presents this new limited edition 11 disc boxed set - The Symphonies by Philip Glass. This collection features conductor Dennis Russell Davies who has arranged the commission of nine of ten Glass symphonies, leading the orchestras over which he has presided during the past 15 years including the Bruckner Orchester Linz, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonieorchester Basel, and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. This collection is the fruit of a 20 year collaboration between Glass and Davies and showcases a wide variety within this surprising body of work by Glass.

In the series of live recordings with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, this outstanding recording took place both in Germany and abroad. Jansons’ previous Ravel/Bartók recording has received an ECHO Klassik in 2008. On this new album, the orchestra presents key symphonic works by Joseph Haydn: the Sinfonia Concertante No. 105 and symphonies No. 100 and No. 104. Once again Jansons and the Orchestra prove to have a superb flair for the musical content of those works.
