NOW is proud to present the next instalment in our ongoing ‘Yearbook’ series – NOW – Yearbook 1988 with tracks across CDs, celebrating this eclectic year in Pop.

NOW Music is proud to present the continuation to our Yearbook series, NOW - YEARBOOK 1984; a 4CD compilation featuring 78 defining hits that ruled the charts in 1984, including No.1s from Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and George Michael (solo and with Wham!), together with huge hits from Culture Club, Bananarama, U2, Spandau Ballet, and Deniece Williams.

The Now That’s What I Call Music Team are continuing the Yearbook series not by continuing on into the late 1980s nor by delving deeper into the 1970s, but via an excursion into the 1990s!

NOW was recently proud to announce the ‘Yearbook’ for 1985, as we move forward to the second half of the 1980s, and we were delighted with the response to the 1979 edition back in September. However, we haven’t quite finished with those golden pop years 1980 – 1984.

Now That’s What I Call Music celebrate 1973 with a new Yearbook devoted to those 12 months which includes hits from Elton John, Paul McCartney & Wings, Slade, T. Rex, Faces, Billy Joel, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen and more. As usual you can choose from the 4CD deluxe set in book packaging or a standard card sleeve version. Both offer 83 tracks from 1973 and there’s even room for some David Bowie this time, although perhaps not the track you were expecting. A 3LP vinyl edition offers a cut down 47-track selection and is pressed on red vinyl. Full tracklistings for both formats can be found below. NOW is proud to present ‘Yearbook Extra 1985’ – 3 CDs featuring 60 more stellar pop moments from 1985.Kicking off with Wham! and their I’m Your Man’, disc one continues with the collaboration between Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin, and huge hits from Go West, Tears For Fears, Pat Benatar, and Billy Idol. Synth- Pop from Thompson Twins, Dead Or Alive, Stephen Duffy, Howard Jones is here– and another collaboration between Gary Numan and Shakatak’s Bill Sharpe on ‘Change Your Mind’ – before Elton John, Paul Young, and King, wrapping up with three exquisite soulful ballads from Billy Ocean, Jermaine Jackson, and Commodores.

With the ‘main’ Yearbook for 1974 released on Friday, Now That’s What I Call Music have announced the companion ‘Extra’ version, which contains 64 tracks across three CDs. This set features songs from acts such as Elton John (‘The Bitch is Back’), Queen (‘Seven Seas of Rhye’), Slade (‘The Bangin’ Man’), Bryan Ferry (‘Smoke Gets in Your Eyes’), Leo Sayer (‘One Man Band’), Mud (‘Rocket’), Status Quo (‘Break the Rules’), David Essex (‘America’), Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel (‘Judy Teen’), Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye (‘Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)’), Commodores (‘Machine Gun’), Roberta Flack (‘Feel Like Makin’ Love’). Full tracklisting can be found below, and, as usual, this Extra edition comes packaged in a cheap-and-cheerful six panel card sleeve.

NOW That’s What I Call Music’s Yearbook series continues with 1990, only the second time they’ve dipped their toe into the decade we like to call “the 1990s”. There’s loads of great songs and artists on this compilation, including George Michael, Elton John, Roxette, New Order, The KLF, The Beautiful South, Pet Shop Boys, Sting, Duran Duran, Kylie, Whitney, er, Appleby… and that’s just CD 1! The second disc is home to a few memorable collaborations, namely DNA & Suzanne Vega, Adamski & Seal and there’s definitely a ‘dance’ vibe with contributions from Deee-Lite, Soul II Soul, Adventures Of Stevie V, SNAP! before it goes a bit ‘indie’ towards the end with The Charlatans, The Stone Roses, The Cure and Primal Scream, etc.

CD1 kicks off with a run of Synth-Pop gems from established artists Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Blancmange, Gary Numan and Talk Talk alongside some newer bands, The Lotus Eaters, Freur and After The Fire… Japan released a live instrumental, and Yello, Divine, Rockers Revenge and Freeez presented fantastic club tracks. The second disc opens with a stunning collection of Indiesingles from Bauhaus, Marc And The Mambas, The Stranglers and The Glove – featuring members of both The Cure and Siouxsie And The Banshees! CD3 features some huge and long-established superstars Billy Joel with the stunning opener Goodnight Saigon, Bonnie Tyler, Lionel Richie, Mike Oldfield, The Kinks, Olivia Newton-John and U.S. hit for Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton with a cover of Bob Seger’s ‘We’ve Got Tonite’.
