Nuno Cobra

Nuno Côrte-Real (b. 1971) has been working as a composer and conductor for more than twenty years and is one of the most important figures of Portuguese contemporary music. From the beginning, he showed great independence, ignoring the prevailing musical currents and established opinions.

Trio Pangea explores the rich variety to be found in a century of Portuguese chamber music history. Armando José Fernandes was one of the most prominent Portuguese composers of the mid-20th century, and with its contrasting musical playfulness and serene solemnity his Sonata a Tre reveals the composer’s strong attachment to neo-Classicism. Nuno Côrte-Real’s Sonata Holandesa is representative of a shifting compositional style that ranges in expression from violent to dreamlike. One of Liszt’s last pupils, José Viana da Mota has been described as ‘utterly Brahmsian’ in the noble opening to his Piano Trio, elements of which also reflect the influence of his teacher.

Peter Martell (Pietro Martellanza) stars in THE COBRA (IL COBRA), a Eurospy action thriller in which he plays disgraced treasury agent Mike Rand, who teams with his boss (Dana Andrews) to halt a Red Chinese plot to destroy the free world by flooding the market opium and turning everyone into addicts. Along the way he manages to bed junkie Anita Ekberg, get into various fights and destroy the refinery that is sending out the drugs.
