The Outlander series is a sequence of multi-genre novels and shorter works written by Diana Gabaldon that feature elements of historical fiction, romance, mystery, adventure and science fiction/fantasy.

This books have a little bit of everything: history, time traveling, drama, romance, adventure, mystery and even some comedy. Diana Gabaldon's description of events, people, places, emotions, objects and even smells is captivating. I've read all seven books and kept me crying, laughing, sad, angry, biting my nails and more… I fell in love with Jamie, Claire, Lord John and dozens of characters that make this my absolute favorite series of books. Score composer Bear McCreary was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 17, 1979, the son of the writer Laura Kalpakian. He obtained degrees in composition and recording arts from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California and became a protégé of film composer Elmer Bernstein, for whom he reconstructed and reorchestrated the score for the 1963 film Kings of the Sun, resulting in a new recording of the music.
