Silvio Rodríguez is one of the founders of the "Nueva Trova" sound. This was a fusion of musical genres that originated in the 1960s in revolutionary age Cuba.

Difficult is to offer a chronological selection of the main songs of Silvio Rodríguez.
His first LP dates from 1975, but most of his songs have been broadcast through Cuban cinema, for which Rodríguez has written innumerable works.

This is the first official Silvio Rodríguez's LP "Días y flores" ("Te doy una canción").
The tender balladry offsets the hard-edged, politically slanted lyrics of Silvio Rodriguez. A spearhead of the nueva trova (new ballad) style of nueva cancion (new song), Rodriguez masterfully blends romantic tunes with protest material condemning colonization and the tyranny that swept through Latin America in the late '60s and early '70s.

IMHO, the best Rodríguez's album.
Originally released in 1978, Silvio Rodríguez's Mujeres is often regarded as his masterpiece, representing a great artist at his very best.

The great Swedish trio of Bobo Stenson takes a stand against indecision in a decisively beautiful new album. As ever, the trio draws upon a wide range of source materials. A yearning title song by Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez, Bartók’s adaptation of a Slovak folk song, a piece from Mompou’s Cançons I Danses collection, and Erik Satie’s Elégie are integrated into the programme, alongside original compositions by Stenson and Anders Jormin and group improvising.
