‘And Also The Trees’ compelling new album, ‘Mother-of-Pearl Moon’, was born from a series of extraordinary electric guitar improvisations created by guitarist Justin Jones in the pre- and postdawn hours during a month of solitude in 2020. Each piece then developed in its own way - the guitar, often left in its raw, unaltered form, is accompanied by the voice of his brother Simon, bringing imagery and narrative, Colin Ozanne’s clarinet and piano adding poise, colour and harmony, Paul Hill’s percussion creating depth… on occasion an autoharp, a Moog… all leading the listener from the depths of the English countryside far out in all directions of the compass. The music is often filmic, reminiscent of various film genres from the ‘50s to the ‘70s.

Pearl is an album by Janis Joplin, released on February 1, 1971, just four months after her death from a heroin overdose. It is her fourth album and the only album she recorded with the Full Tilt Boogie Band. The album has a more polished feel than the albums she recorded with Big Brother and the Holding Company and the Kozmic Blues Band due to the expertise of producer Paul A. Rothchild and her new backing musicians. Rothchild was best known as the producer of The Doors, and worked well with Joplin. Together they were able to craft an album that showcased her extraordinary vocal talents. The Full Tilt Boogie Band were the musicians who accompanied her on the famous Festival Express in the summer of 1970, and many of the songs on this album were introduced on the concert stage in Canada. In 2003, the album was ranked number 122 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

The Dogs were essentially a second-rate version of the 2 Live Crew – an X-rated, bass-heavy rap group based in Miami. There wasn't anything novel about the group's raps or their beats; however, the group attained notoriety at the time as part of the Joey Boy roster – one of the definitive Miami bass labels of the early '90s – and, subsequently, because group member Labrant Dennis was charged with the 1996 murder of a University of Miami football player, an incident which garnered substantial publicity, particularly in the Miami area. In addition to Dennis, the Dogs also featured Keith Bell, Dennis' longtime friend.
