Il 22 giugno 1983 una ragazza di 15 anni, Emanuela Orlandi, sparisce dal centro di Roma e non farà più ritorno. E' figlia di un commesso pontificio e ben presto si capisce che la sparizione coinvolge diversi poteri forti, dal Vaticano alla Banda della Magliana fino a Mafia Capitale. La sua scomparsa è l'occasione per raccontare la piramide omertosa che da quel momento metterà in ginocchio la capitale.
