"Face Value" is the debut solo studio album by English drummer, singer-songwriter and Genesis lead singer Phil Collins. After his first wife filed for divorce in 1979, Collins began to write songs during a break in activity from Genesis with much of the material concerning his personal life. The album was recorded from mid-1980 to early 1981 with Collins and Hugh Padgham as producers. Additional musicians include the Phenix Horns, Alphonso Johnson, and Eric Clapton.

Produced by Ric Powell, "Everything Is Everything" has been dubbed by critics as one of Hathaway’s finest releases. The album, another facet in Hathaway’s undeniable musicianship, finds the emotive vocalist covering tunes like Ray Charles' “I Believe to My Soul” and Nina Simone’s “To Be Young, Gifted and Black”. His swinging single “The Ghetto” charted on Billboard’s Hot 100 and top R&B singles. With breathtaking sound quality, the album is a fully displays of Hathaway’s musical artistry.

Each LP comes in a "Quality Record Pressings" rice paper inner sleeve. There are 2 stickers on the front of the shrink-wrap - "Quality Record Pressings" and a "75 Atlantic Audiophile Series" hype sticker. Some copies have an additional sticker with "AAPA 003-45A". 100% All-Analog Mastered and cut to lacquer from a 1/4" EQ'd Dolby tape copy of the original master tape.

A quick scan of the many records Phil Thornalley has worked on, and you’ll quickly spot some of the biggest names in popular music, including Bryan Adams, Thompson Twins, The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, XTC, Duran Duran, and even Paul McCartney. Phil co-wrote and produced Natalie Imbruglia’s 1997 worldwide smash “Torn,” and has written hits with Pixie Lott (“Mama Do”) and BBMak (“Back Here”).

Altoist Phil Woods' second recording as a leader is a rather brief 34-minute set. Accompanied by a quiet but swinging rhythm section (pianist John Williams, bassist Teddy Kotick, and drummer Nick Stabulas), Woods swings hard on four standards (including "Slow Boat to China" and "Be My Love"), plus a pair of his originals: "Strollin' with Pam" and "Woodlore". The altoist displays plenty of energy and a strong command of the bebop vocabulary, sounding quite enthusiastic.

Some time ago the former Grateful Dead (also Rythm Devils/New Riders of the Purple Sage/The Warlocks/ect) bassist and occasional vocalist put together an fantastic line up of his favorite Jam artist for a new fresh experience and and possibly a new Grateful Dead. He chose Warren Haynes (The Allman Brothers/Gov't Mule/Solo/ect) for guitar, Rob Barraco (Zen Tricksters/Chris Robinson & The New Earth Mud/ect) from piano, Jimmy Herring (The Allman Brothers/Aquarium Rescue Unit/Jazz is Dead/ Frogwings/ect) also for guitar, and John Molo (Bruce Hornsby/ModeReko/ect) for the band. Each member shows so much skill, and jam caulities.

One of the best living alto saxophone players, Phil Woods returned to Venus Records for the first time in six years with his star-studded quintet which includes Brian Lynch and Bill Charlap. Recorded in 2008, Ballads & Blues also represents Woods' first composer's songbook dedicated to Billy Strayhorn. Choosing predominantly slow and medium tempos, Woods shines with his big, warm and expressive tone, soulful blues feel and wailing melancholy. The supporting cast is also superb. This album will be remembered as one of Woods' best.

1975 was a hell of a year for Creed Taylor's Kudu Records. Not only was the mighty, mighty "Feels So Good" album by Grover Washington, Jr. released, but so was saxophonist Hank Crawford's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing". It was one of two recordings issued by Crawford for the label in that calendar year. But perhaps the most deeply satisfying and out of character album from that year was the absolute soul-jazz masterpiece Upchurch/Tennyson by Chicago guitar god Phil Upchurch and pianist/vocalist Tennyson Stephens.
