Tout commence alors que Myriam est encore adolescente. Extrêmement introvertie, elle vit chez son père qui l'a élevée seul. La mort de leur voisine fait débarquer dans le quartier un homme d'une quarantaine d'années, Yann, qui très vite devient son premier amant. Peu après, les voici mariés et Myriam se libère de ses inhibitions de jeune fille. Elle accouche d'une petite Caroline, sans éprouver aucun sentiment maternel…

Dan et Richard, deux vétérans de l'Afghanistan et amis d'enfance, vivent dans la même ville depuis leur retour des zones de combat. Encore gravement perturbés par ce qu'ils ont vécu, ils peinent à retrouver une vie normale. Le cas de Dan est à peu près réglé - il s'oblige à une hygiène de vie très rigoureuse, travaille assidûment ; mais celui de Richard - bagarreur, récidiviste, infidèle - semble définitivement perdu. L'arrivée de Marlène, la belle-soeur de Richard, va redistribuer les cartes. Jusqu'à la tragédie ? Condensé dans sa forme, nerveux, Marlène est un roman tout entier tendu par la brusque fuite en avant de ses héros.

2005 released 2nd solo album from the son of CSN's Stephen Stills & French superstar Veronique Sanson. Stills explores the ties between the 2 cultures that nurtured his life- French songs and American rock. "My French culture has always been a part of my life but it was time for me to do something with it." The album is bilingual, with Stills singing for the first time in his mother tongue: French. "This allowed me to discover another side of myself," explains Chris, "recalling another culture in my art.". He composed the English material and collaborated for the French songs with native songwriters & composers: Philippe Djian who wrote the lyrics for 2 songs composed by Stephan Eicher ("La fin du monde" & "Demon"), Jean-Louis Murat ("Kitty Catty"), while ex-Alain Bashung lyricist Boris Bergman wrote "DeuxiŠme Chance". Ryan Adams lent a helping hand on "For You". Finally, "Fool for Love" was written by Chris, the album's producer Hod David and the phenomenal producer, Ethan Johns.
