Portugal The Man

Produced by five-time GRAMMY Award-winning producer Danger Mouse, "Evil Friends" is the undaunted reawakening for Portugal. The Man. The band constructed new songs melding together their ambitious visions. Each track on Evil Friends is as different from the next as Portugal. The Man’s previous records were from each other, which is to say a piece of growing mindscape, and wholly a part of the group’s tumbling fever dream.

"Black Changed My Life" is the first full album from Portugal. The Man since the release of their 2017 platinum-certified album Woodstock. The album is dedicated to the band's late friend and honorary member Chris Black

"Woodstock" is the eighth full-length album by Alaskan rock band Portugal. The Man. After having released "Evil Friends" in 2013, Portugal. The Man began work on a new project, under the working title "Gloomin + Doomin". This album was eventually shelved, partly due to a conversation between John Gourley and his father and the discovery of a lost ticket stub from the Woodstock festival. Work began on the "Woodstock" album shortly thereafter, involving new music as well as material from the "Gloomin + Doomin" era.

Chris Black Changed My Life is the follow-up to 2017's Woodstock and dedicated to their late friend Chris Black, who sometimes acted as their hype man at shows. The album was produced by Jeff Bhasker, and some songs, including "Thunderdome [W.T.A]," "Summer of Luv," "Time’s a Fantasy," "Champ," and "Anxiety:Clarity".

We worked with so many rad people on this album, but ended up with just the four of us in a basement at 4am trying to say something that mattered. Trying to write music that would help people feel they're not alone, even if they're angry or feeling lost. This video is our way of saying that we're all in this together.
